About the Indiana State Museum and Historic Sites:
The Indiana State Museum and Historic Sites (ISMHS) is a statewide museum system with 12 locations, including a central museum based in Indianapolis. Role Overview:
Incumbent serves as a Security Manager for the Indiana State Museum to maintain a safe and enjoyable environment for staff/guests and to prevent the theft and/or damage to museum property to include artifacts and exhibits. The Security Manager will provide efficient, courteous, and friendly services to guests/visitors to promote a pleasant and secure atmosphere. This role ensures the protection of museum visitors, staff, exhibits, and property through the effective management of security personnel, systems, and protocols. The Security Manager will also travel to historic sites to conduct regular safety and security inspections, develop and manage projects, and foster partnerships with contract security providers. The Incumbent will be required to work weekends, holidays, and a flexible schedule to accommodate increased guests/visitors, public utilization and support of the security department.
Salary Statement:
The salary for this position traditionally starts at $25,766.00 but may be commensurate with education or work experience.
A Day in the Life:
+ Some essential functions of this position may be performed onsite at the agency’s worksite or other assigned worksites while some essential functions of this position may be eligible for work from home authorization in accordance with policy. Remote work authorization is not automatic and is dependent upon operational needs and agency approval.

Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports:
This role may be utilized in a supervisory capacity based on agency needs.
