The Security Manager provides a safe physical environment for all patients, visitors and staff. The Security Manager is responsible for the Security department as it relates to Campus Safety.

Responsibilities Manages the DCH Security staff and assists with areas of responsibility as needed.Provides leadership coaching and professional development for al direct reports.Develops and implements internal controls to ensure Security staff compliance with campus orders, competency tasks, and assigned duties.Creates, modifies, and updates policies, procedures, standards and guidelines for Security Operations and serves in a consultative and policy-setting role as related to the implementation and management of administrative solutions.Assist the Director in developing, tracking and analyzing quality control measures and data to ensure that the Security Department delivers quality service in an efficient manner.Assist the Director in ensuring that the department under his or her leadership meets financial and general reporting goals and deadlines.Periodic surveys and audits of facilities and grounds to ensure compliance with safety, federal and state guidelines.Maintains continuous survey readiness through compliance with regulations from several regulatory agencies.Works collaboratively with law enforcement agencies to ensure effective response to a security events and/or disaster.Collection, analysis, and identification of the causes and trends of safety and emergency service related losses of company resources and assets. Ensures key DCH performance metrics, including staff occupational injury/illness and environmental sustainability results are accurately reported and communicated.Direction and coordination of investigation of alleged or apparent criminal activity.Training and education programs and materials related to our Security Services program.Participates in the EOC committee and function as the department liaison.Makes decisions and provides direction to DCH Campus Security Services staff, including scheduling, evaluations, performance management, and training, authorize overtime, completes payroll, responds to complaints and other managerial functions.Functions as a mentor for Security Shift Leaders and staff. Conducts scheduled meetings designed to promote open dialog and assist the Officers in growing their skill sets.Assists the Director in completion of fire drills.

Must adhere to all DCH Health System policies and procedures.All other duties as assigned. Qualifications

Required:

Bachelor’s degree in related field (i.e. Criminal Justice).  Professional healthcare experience or industry certification in lieu of degree may be considered.A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in Law Enforcement or Healthcare Security related fields is required

 

Must be able to read, write legibly, speak, and comprehend English.

Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be creative in developing cost-effective, sensible solutions that deliver results

Physical Factors

Walking, standing, pushing, stooping, bending, stretching, and lifting heavy loads. Keyboard repetitive motion.Requirements: Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.Must be able to perform the duties with or without reasonable accommodation.Hearing and vision must be normal or corrected to within normal range. Physical presence onsite is essential.
