Corporate Security & Investigations (CSI) develops and implements security and life safety strategies for all firm employees and facilities. The team is responsible for Physical Security & Security Technology, Access Control, Due Diligence Investigations, Internal & External Fraud Investigations, Travel Security and Workforce Screening (WFS).
CSI’s WFS Program serves as a critical risk mitigation process responsible for identifying potentially unsuitable employees and contingent workers that may present an operational, reputational, or regulatory risk to the Firm. The program has offices in New York, Alpharetta, London, Budapest, Tokyo, and Mumbai.
As a WFS Risk Specialist you will serve as an escalation point in our Investigative Review & Escalation (IRET) team. Your focus will be on background screening results that pose potential reputational risk to the Firm. The WFS Risk Specialist will work in close concert with Employment Law and Human Resources to evaluate and resolve the reputational risk related issues.
Duties and Responsibilities
Investigate escalated background screening concerns for employees and contingent workers, including criminal, misrepresentation, fraud, or any reputational risks.Interact with candidates and employees undergoing pre-employment screening procedures, in accordance with the Firm’s regulatory and other operational requirements.Prepare review documentation, including interview notes and summary of findings.Recommend appropriate resolution of internal concerns to Employment Law and/or Human Resources.Produce ad-hoc, weekly, monthly / quarterly metrics reviews, as applicable.Interact with counterparts within Firm stakeholder groups, participating in working groups and ad hoc meetings.Effectively supervise activities of an Associate/Analyst.Contributes to mentorship and development of staff to maximize breadth and depth of expertise in support of mission.Knowledge & Skills
Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated patience, tact, and respect.Advanced interviewing skills and ability to resolve conflict professionally.Ability to quickly evaluate alternatives and decide on a plan of action.Knowledge of applicable law, regulations, rules, procedures.Maintains client confidentiality and protects operations by keeping CSI information confidential.Professionalism, sensitivity, and discretion are required.Mastery of public record databases, internet sites, and other information resources for use during the background screening review process.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (i.e., MS-Word, MS-Excel, MS-PowerPoint and MS-Outlook).Strong client focus, sound judgment, and ability to tactfully handle sensitive information.Ability to work well under pressure, resolve conflict, and meet demanding deadlines.Ability to multi-task and deal with the uncertainties of an evolving, dynamic organization.Strong attention to detail and ability to synthesize information from multiple sources.Exceptional business writing, editing, analytical, and communication skills.Experience running meetings and speaking to large groups.Organizational and time management skills.Qualifications
