Security Guard

The Security Guard is responsible for ensuring a safe and orderly environment for both program participants and staff. They are also responsible for ensuring the building is evacuated in case of an emergency. The day time Security Guard is responsible for covering program Monday through Friday 2PM-6PM during the school year. During summer camp security may work 9am-6pm on the days that trips are not taking place. Supervises (title[s]): N/A

 

Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions of Position:

1 In addition to responsibilities below, performs all other duties as assigned.

2 Uses positive approaches when handling difficult situations. Avoids gossip and negative discussions. Remains flexible and adapts to change.

3 Serves as role model for program participants. Abides dress code. Always conducts self in a professional manner.

4 Remains sensitive and responsive to cultural differences of program participants and staff.

5 Participates in in-service trainings and on-site workshops as required for professional growth and development. Attends external trainings and workshops at direction of management.

6 Represents the organization both within and outside of the work environment in a manner that promotes the mission, vision and values of the agency. Personally, adheres to organizational mission, vision, and values, in addition to all other agency policies and procedures.

7 Ensure and maintain a safe and orderly environment throughout the facility.

8 Supervise fire drills and emergency procedures.

9 Greet and screen all persons entering the building and outside play areas and Prevent vandalism and destruction of program property.

10 Assist staff in securing equipment and supplies and assist in registering participants, including processing, and issuing ID cards.

11 Maintain accurate participant register and sign-in sheets.

12 Remain sensitive and responsive to cultural differences present in the agency's service population.

13 Conduct fire drill once per month.

14 Conduct Shelter in place drill twice per year.

15 Complete 15 hours of training every two years.

16 Complete a walkthrough of the facility, and maintain accurate records and logs provided by the Program Director. Monitor Facility camera and footage software and devices.
