Experience what’s next at Avnet! **Job Summary:** We are seeking a collaborative and skilled Security Engineer to join our security engineering team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in endpoint security solutions such as EDR and DLP and have experience with responding to compliance assessments. This role is pivotal in ensuring the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of our organization's data and systems through proactive endpoint protection and security management. **Principal Responsibilities:** + **CrowdStrike Management:** Administer and optimize CrowdStrike Falcon endpoint protection platform. This includes configuring and maintaining endpoint security agents, analyzing threat intelligence, and responding to incidents to ensure comprehensive protection against advanced threats. + **DLP Implementation:** Implement and manage Data Loss Prevention (DLP) solutions to safeguard sensitive data across endpoints. Configure policies, monitor DLP alerts, and enforce data protection measures to prevent unauthorized data access and breaches. + **Privileged Access Management (PAM):** Oversee and manage PAM systems to ensure secure administration of privileged accounts, including configuring, monitoring, and auditing access controls to protect sensitive systems and data. + **Compliance Assessments:** Participate in regular compliance assessments to ensure adherence to relevant security standards and regulations. Develop action plans to address compliance issues, ensuring our endpoint security posture meets industry and organizational requirements. + **On-Call Rotation:** Provide 24x7 on-call support as part of a rotating team, responding to and resolving security incidents, monitoring alerts, and ensuring system integrity and uptime. + **Incident Response:** Investigate and respond to security incidents involving endpoints. Analyze and mitigate threats, coordinate with other IT teams to implement remediation actions, and provide detailed reports on incident impact and resolution. + **Security Updates and Patching:** Ensure timely application of security patches and updates to endpoint agents by collaborating with IT teams to deploy fixes and maintain a secure environment. + **Documentation and Reporting:** Maintain accurate documentation of endpoint security configurations, policies, and procedures. Generate and present regular reports on endpoint security status, incidents, and compliance to stakeholders and management. + **Collaboration and Support:** Work closely with other IT and security teams to enhance overall security posture. Provide technical support and guidance on endpoint security issues and contribute to the development of security best practices and training materials. + Other duties as assigned​ **Distinguishing Characteristics:** + **Technical Expertise:** Working knowledge of endpoint security solutions, particularly CrowdStrike and Microsoft Purview/ Trellix DLP, combined with practical experience in managing and optimizing these tools. + **Experience with Windows and Linux Administration:** Demonstrated proficiency in managing and troubleshooting Windows Server environments and Linux systems. + **Proficiency in Scripting Languages:** Experience with scripting languages such as Python for automating tasks, developing custom scripts, and enhancing system administration workflows, with an ability to write, debug, and optimize code for various operational needs. + **Regulatory Knowledge:** Familiarity with industry regulations and compliance requirements relevant to endpoint security, such as GDPR and PCI-DSS. + **Problem-Solving Ability:** Demonstrated capability to address complex security issues effectively and efficiently. Ability to think critically and adapt solutions to evolving security challenges. + **Communication Skills:** Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders and produce clear, concise reports. + **Team-Oriented:** Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively within a team and contribute to collective security goals while managing individual responsibilities. + Industry certifications such as CISSP, CASP, or GIAC are a plus. + Relevant vendor specific certifications are a plus. **Work Experience:** + Typically 3+ years with bachelor's or equivalent. **Education and Certification(s):** + Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience from which comparable knowledge and job skills can be obtained. \#LI-HYBRID **What We Offer:** Our employees work hard to live our values and help us grow.
