Security Assurance Specialist, AWS

AWS Utility Computing (UC) provides product innovations — from foundational services such as Amazon’s Simple Storage Service (S3) and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), to consistently released new product innovations that continue to set AWS’s services and features apart in the industry. As a member of the UC organization, you’ll support the development and management of Compute, Database, Storage, Internet of Things (Iot), Platform, and Productivity Apps services in AWS, including support for customers who require specialized security solutions for their cloud services.

AWS is seeking a Security Assurance Specialist with a strong understanding and awareness of the role assurance can play in upholding the highest security standards for our customers. The Security Assurance Specialist will be part of the team that assures services, applies controls and reporting on governance for services that connect AWS regions of differing security classifications.

AWS is delivering exciting and complex distributed systems, and the Security Assurance Specialist is essential to how AWS operate and secure these systems.

Key job responsibilities
• Establish auditing to facilitate the analysis of the processes in place for data flow control
• Become a subject matter expert in our assurance and audit framework
• Participate in the creation and ongoing management of the internal controls, policies, and procedures
• Work with a range of AWS teams to gather evidence to confirm key controls exist across the environment
• Communicate to key stakeholders how security and compliance controls are implemented
• Communicate to leadership key risks and areas of process improvement
• Seek diverse opinions and coordinate improvement efforts
• Report and investigate non-compliance issues
