Security Administrative Assistant:

 

Bowhead is actively recruiting for a  Security Administrative Assistant to provide security administrative services/support to Commander Naval Surface Force, U. S. Pacific Fleet (CNSP) Security Directorate (Security Management Office) located onboard the Naval Amphibious Base (NAB) Coronado, California as well as on occasion at Naval Base San Diego. 

Responsibilities

Essential Duties Include:

Maintaining CNSP staff personnel (military, civilian, and contractor) security files (both electronic and hard copy which includes the Defense Information System for Security (DISS) person summary, security orientation brief and personnel security questionnaire.Will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the activities Personnel, Information and Physical Security mission supporting both the command subordinate shore and afloat commands.Providing Government personnel with Government approved foreign travel briefings as required.Conducting fingerprinting utilizing the SWFT+ fingerprinting systemReceiving and recording personnel clearance eligibility based upon DISS information for personnel and forwarding the annotated System Authorization Access Request (SAAR) form for final approvalPreparing classified documents/correspondence for signatures/transmittals in accordance with all security requirementsMonitoring multidiscipline security operations as well as personnel security suitability and adjudicative guidelines, agency specific qualifications, personnel security regulations, and investigative standardsSupporting security awareness programs, and attending, coordinating and apprising management on any matters related to meetings, training and higher-level policy changes.Must have experience with communicating both orally and in writing to negotiate with security officials, presenting findings and recommendations, conducting security training and security briefings, providing guidance on the application and implementation of security policies and procedures.Provide support and subject matter expertise to subordinate command Security Managers in their performance of managing Personnel Security, Information Security, Physical Security, and Insider Threat programs.Create and manage user accounts for subordinate Security Managers in DISS and NBIS/eAPP.Support CNSP Security Staff in the preparation and execution of the assessments of subordinate unit Security programs during periodic Command Readiness and Assist Visits (CRAV). Other duties as assigned. Will be required to pay union dues. Qualifications High school diploma and prior work experience equivalent to that of five years in the area of DoD Security Specialist, management that demonstrates knowledge/understanding of applicable security regulations and instructions.Must have relevant experience and have used DISS and NBIS/eAPP.Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of military and government civilian personnel.Ideal applicant must be able to manage multiple tasks at one time; coordinate with other personnel within the command and subordinate commands; work independently; and develop strategies to optimize task performance, ensure efficiency, and achieve a high level of customer satisfaction.Must be proficient in Microsoft Office with an emphasis on Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access. Must be able to enter, save, retrieve, edit, and present text, spreadsheets and/or charts. Must have ability to keyboard at a minimum 40 wpm and possess proper grammar, spelling and punctuation skills.Must obtain a Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) through the Center for Development of Security Excellence (DCSA CDSE) Security Professional Education Development (SPēD) program within one year of hire

Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of timeMust be able to twist, bend and squat periodically

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Secret level.  US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
