Job Summary:
As a Regulatory Practice Manager - Vice President, you will support the regulatory agenda in order to enable the business to meet its mandatory obligations, in line with the external regulatory developments, as well as collaborate with product partners to continue evolving regulatory service solutions in order to support client needs.
The role forms part of the Securities Services Global Regulatory Practice (with locations in London, Hong Kong, Boston, Luxembourg, Ireland and Mumbai) and will require significant collaboration on a pan European basis. The successful candidate will be accountable to the Global Regulatory Practice Head and will also work closely with the Luxembourg Securities Services business head in order to ensure alignment with the local in-country broader business strategy and priorities.
The mandate provides an opportunity to manage Securities Services regulatory portfolio and overarching governance model, closely collaborate with product partners and subject matter experts to develop innovative service solutions and regulatory change readiness strategies, create market leading thought leadership content for clients and develop and lead client engagement strategy.
Job Responsibilities:
Ownership and evolution of the local regulatory operating and governance model in line with changing business needs, client demand and the broader risk management and controls considerations, ensuring alignment to the global standards, processes and best practices Monitor in-country and EU regulatory landscape, formulate forward looking regulatory inventory, and proactively assess business and client impacts and perform formal gap analysis Maintain a robust and disciplined controls framework including governance, reporting, business processes to mitigate risks associated with regulatory change management In consultation with Securities Services product and control partners, formulate and propose readiness strategies in order to ensure mandatory compliance with regulatory reforms Anticipate client demand for regulatory service solutions, and in conjunction with product partners formulate and propose how products and services should be adapted to help clients meet their regulatory obligations Represent J.P. Morgan in the local industry discussions, working groups and advocacy efforts – where required – in an effort to ensure proposed legislations are sustainable, practically viable and achieve intended objectives for J.P. Morgan, our clients and broader marketplace Identify and propose opportunities to monetize regulatory service solutions, where clients may require bespoke services and/or regulatory solutions to help them meet their regulatory obligations Develop and implement a targeted and proactive client engagement strategy on regulatory reforms to include one-on-one meetings, client roundtables, and regulatory client webinars Develop market leading thought leadership content including regulatory publications and client facing materials, to project J.P. Morgan expertise and our innovative regulatory solutions to clients Lead or support planned and unplanned projects and initiatives at a location and/or regional level, as requiredRequired Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
Strong understanding and practical experience within the Securities Services (custody, fund administration, transfer agency, depositary/trustee services, collateral management, etc) and/or investment management products and services, preferably in a similar function A background in the financial services industry (securities services, asset management, wealth management, pensions/insurance, banking) Compliance, regulatory consultancy and/or business/product control experience is a bonus Good working understanding of the Luxembourg and broader European financial services industry and familiarity with local/EU regulatory landscape Client facing experience, preferably at a key stakeholder/decision maker level Industry facing experience, preferably through participation in key industry working groups and being actively engaged in industry associations is a bonus Proven track record of end-to-end ownership, excellence in execution and ability to drive results Excellent analytical skills, with exceptional attention to detail Ability to demonstrate inclusion of risk and control parameters in business activities and create effective partnerships with control partners (Legal, Compliance, Business Control) Superb verbal and written communication skills Excellent MS Office skills
