Secured Facility Lobby Receptionist Manager

If so, we're looking for someone like you to join our Security Services Department at APL! We are seeking a dynamic individual to be the Section Supervisor of the Visitor Access Specialist's team scheduling and prioritizing coverage in the lobbies for visitor check in at a large facility and providing a welcoming, positive first impression of the Laboratory to our visitors! Team coordination with Lab meeting hosts to validate visitors attending classified meetings are appropriately cleared and issued the correct level badge for access. Act as a co-subject matter expert for the contract release external government approval process of the Review and Release Tool (RRT). As a Secure Facility Lobby Receptionist Manager you will... Lead and prioritize the work within the section; ensuring staffing is at the correct level for Lab support. As needed, managing candidate selection, handling interviews and new hire onboarding; Establish and approve training as needed; Mentoring, coaching and developing section staff. Keep track of cyclical events (e.g., performance reviews, salary action and recognition awards of section staff), schedule and run monthly section meetings, review and approve leave requests and section timesheets, and attend department group leadership meetings. Coordinate lobby and leave schedules for coverage to support visitors, meetings and events. Collaborate with APL staff in meetings/events preparation discussions and support of large special events held at Kossiakoff, Parson’s, 200E-100 and B201 Auditoriums and other visitor events (e.g. Family Visit Day). Coordinate with the Incoming Visitor Control Office for approval of Foreign National Visitors through the FVA Process for both unclassified and classified foreign national visits. Participate in new building/lobby location planning meetings and prepare ISTs for Visitor Access Specialists needed for new lobby openings. Regularly review and modify lobby standard operating procedures and guidance documents as needed. In depth knowledge of a Visitor Manager System (e.g. Passage Point) and reports, badging process, integration with a security management system *(e.g. SIMS) and Access Control System to manage visitor records and badge accesses as needed. Participate in Visitor Management System integrated systems upgrades. Track and report lobby visitor and badge metrics. Coordinate with the Visitor Control Office team for additional badges & badge supplies as needed. Handle Lobby office supplies and equipment orders. Oversee the Visitor VIP Parking Request process handled by Visitor Access Specialists. VIP Meeting communication to Executive Leadership and lobby support for VIP/High Profile Visitors. Co-subject matter expert for contract release external government approval process of the Review and Release Tool (RRT). Additional responsibilities as identified. Qualifications You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you have... Have a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of professional work experience. Have 3+ years of relevant experience in a security field with an emphasis on classified visits and meetings. Proficiency with basic word processing and other computer programs, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to effectively lead, supervise, and mentor teams; provide excellent customer focus and able to effectively interact and work with all levels of Laboratory staff, as well as Government sponsors, customers, and representatives of external organizations. Demonstrated prioritization, organization, planning, teamwork, problem-solving and negotiation skills. Are able to obtain Interim Secret level security clearance by your start date and can ultimately obtain Top Secret level clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship. You'll go above and beyond our minimum requirements if you have... Have a solid understanding Visitor Management Software Passage Point and visitor badging requirements of a secure facility. Knowledge of the Government Defense Information System for Security (DISS) visit process, SIMS Software Security Integrated Management System and Lenel OnGuard Access Control System. Can maintain calm and exceptional attention to detail under pressure. Can provide open-door communication, empathy and people skills to build strong relationships with section team members. The referenced pay range is based on JHU APL’s good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level with consideration for internal parity. For salaried employees scheduled to work less than 40 hours per week, annual salary will be prorated based on the number of hours worked. APL may offer bonuses or other forms of compensation per internal policy and/or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be provided in the form of a sign-on bonus, relocation benefits, locality allowance or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
