Secure IT COMSEC Specialist - Security Clearance Required

Janicki Industries is an innovative, family-owned aerospace company located at the foot of the Cascades. We focus on engineering and manufacturing complex projects for companies in the aerospace, defense, and space industries. We are looking for a Secure IT COMSEC Specialist to join our growing team.

 

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Perform COMSEC responsibilities in-accordance-with applicable publications to ensure availability within secure environments. Helps Janicki employees with computing and communication problems related to server/networking configuration, computers, phones, printers, applications, and hardware.

 

The following essential job functions are performed as a Secure IT COMSEC Specialist:

Acts as COMSEC Responsible Officer (CRO), serving as the focal point for all COMSEC matters. Identifies, researches, and resolves technical problems of varying complexity. Works with customers to understand requirements and configure and implement COMSEC equipment as needed. Maintains hardware labeling and inventory logs. Provide user-training to personnel who handle COMSEC material and equipment and who perform COMSEC custodian services. Maintain the COMSEC account files and prepare and submit accounting reports to the COMSEC Office of Record (COR) as required. Package and ship COMSEC equipment and materials between COR and contractors  Perform a semi-annual self-assessment of both the main account and Janicki elements and review ACRO self-assessments. Keep documentation of the semi-annual assessment pursuant to the Record Disposition Schedule. Maintain hand receipt records of all COMSEC material issued to Janicki. Support preparation activities for all COMSEC inspections, audits, and Staff Assistance visits. Travels to various Janicki locations to provide on-site assistance as needed. Responds promptly to requests for technical support. Provide general IT support as needed. Perform machine changeovers between data domains. Installs and troubleshoots computer hardware and peripherals. Patiently communicates with employees across the company. May coordinate with other teams or departments to resolve user problems. Must work well under pressure, meeting and completing multiple deadlines. Assists with preparing for annual inspections. Must become familiar with National Institute of Standards and Technology manuals 800-171 and 800-53. May be required to travel within the continental U.S. Must be at work on time and maintain good attendance. This is a condition of employment and is an essential function of the job. Performs other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

 

This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required).

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Minimum 2+ years of experience required. Associate Degree required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Must have strong customer service skills and proficient oral and written communication skills in the English language. Must be proficient working with Windows OS, common applications like Microsoft Office, and PC hardware (A+ certification level). Must have a basic understanding of computer networking and security. Must be able and willing to gain security clearance and obtain a Security+ certification upon hire. Must be willing to participate in an after-hours, on-call rotation for responding to Secure IT emergencies. Must be accommodating and flexible while maintaining priorities. Must be able to work well independently and under pressure.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION 

Salary range for this role is between $75,000 - $98,000, plus discretionary bonus, 401(k) matching, vacation, and health benefits. Employees can also receive additional pay for off-shifts. The range provided is Janicki’s estimate of the base compensation for this role. Actual amount offered will be based on job-related and non-discriminatory factors such as experience, location, education, training, skills, and abilities
