Job DescriptionAs Section Manager Environmental you will provide services as required and your responsibilities will include but not limited to:
Ensure that the environmental impact of occupational hygiene and emergency preparedness and response meets statutory requirements for legal compliance.Manage water, air, ecology, soil, EIA (environmental impact assessment), EMPs, rehabilitation, pollution, etc.Keep approved licenses up to date according to legal requirements.Ensure compliance with commitments as required in the licenses.Implement, maintain, and improve the Environmental Management System (EMS) by the ISO 14001 international standards.Comply with the requirements of the triple bottom line (people, planet & prosperity) reporting in terms of the environment.Accumulate and interpret data to ensure compliance with reporting requirements.Allocate identified project requests to team members based on their expertise and workload.Provide technical expertise and moral support to team members to ensure successful project completion.Manage financial expenditure within the approved budget to ensure maximum environmental benefit.Compile the budget by KIO standards and practices.This role is in Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) at a Band 6 level reporting to the Manager SHEPS & Contractor Management.
QualificationsGrade 12Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental/Engineering GeologySA Drivers LicenceExperience
6-8 years of experience in environmental management in the mining industry.Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and compliance in mining.Familiarity with environmental impact assessments and mitigation measures.Expertise in water and air quality management in mining.Understanding of community and stakeholder engagement in environmental management.Experience in conducting environmental audits and inspections.Proficiency in environmental reporting and documentation.Familiarity with project planning in an environmental context.Proficiency in MS Office, SAP, and structured methodologies for analysis.Understanding of mining processes, culture, and challenges.Familiarity with Anglo Projects Way and Group Technical StandardsAdditional InformationWhat we offer
