Salary Range: $18.00 - $23.05 Pay rates are determined based on experience and internal equity. Position Summary: + This position is under the supervision of the Director of Physical Therapy. + Coordinates and implements a variety of complex personnel and clerical tasks. + Ensures that quality service is provided in an efficient and safe manner consistent with the departments and organization’s standards of service. + Demonstrates performance consistent with the mission, philosophy and goals of the department and district. + Demonstrates quality and efficiency work habits. + Must work well under stress or tight deadlines. + Must work well with supervisors, co-workers, patients/residents, family members and visitors. District Responsibility: + Support of the District Mission and Values + Demonstrate Respect, Professionalism and Courtesy to all patients, visitors, other providers and coworkers, as delineated in the LVMC “Commitment to Care”. + Constantly use C-I-CARE principles when communicating with others. + Performance Improvement Activities + Professional Development Position Duties/Responsibility: + Coordinates and implements clerical tasks + Obtains authorization for treatment from payer. + Schedules and tracks treatment chronology + Relays communication between physicians, therapists, other clinicians and patients + Performs various tasks as directed by Director + Electronically inputs TARS for Medi Cal approval + Maintains the clerical division of the Physical Therapy Department + Prepares charts for therapist as per daily treatment schedule + Answers telephones and communicates messages as warranted + Assists therapist in tracking medical and office supplies and re-ordering as needed + Reviews all charts on regular basis to ensure documentation is maintained + Performs transcription for therapist evaluations and progress reports. + Position Competencies. + Other duties assigned by a supervisor/director. Essential Functions: + Must have the ability to key board and use multiple computer programs. + Must have the ability to interact in a positive manner both in person and over the telephone. + Must have the ability to sit for prolong periods of time. + The ability to be supervised. + The ability to work as a Team. + The ability to have positive personal interactions with staff, patients/residents and visitors. Position Qualifications: + Education: High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) certificate. + Experience: Any combination of work experience, education and/or training which substantially demonstrates the ability to fulfill the requirements of the position. Typically this would be training in transcription and computer use. + Certifications: None required + Skills/Ability: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Exhibits the ability to organize work assignments and follow through with accuracy. Exercises good judgment. Demonstrates initiative, emotional stability, tact and poise.
