Job Overview:

Responsible for answering high volume calls, schedule appointments, obtain authorizations for diagnostic procedures, coordinate billing and chart prep.

Qualifications:

Required:

High School diploma Writing skills to compose and edit logical, detailed, comprehensive and grammatically correct correspondenceSuperior typing skills to prepare correspondence with speed and accuracyKnowledge of insurance companies admission procedures and policies to complete pre-authorization requirementsKnowledge of hospital procedures to obtain laboratory and imaging informationSkill in communicating with patients, families, physicians, nurses, staff and peers with diplomacy and tactKnowledge of medical terminology, preferably oncology/hematology

Preferred:

Ability to manage physician schedule, must be able to multitask, customer service skills and medical office experience preferred

Shift working- 8:00am- 4:00pmMonday FridayFull Time

Essential Functions:

Extensive experience and competency with varied computer hardware and software, including word processing, spreadsheet, database, scheduling, communications and presentation applicationsAbility to handle matters of highly confidential and sensitive natureAbility to recognize and identify problems, recognize implications and propose alternative solutionsSkill in prioritizing assignments to complete work in a timely mannerSkill in working independently and in following through on assignments with minimal direction
