Seasonal - Program Coordinator
You work closely with the Camp Directors to assist with various program needs including teaching camper lessons, filling in for staff time off blocks, supervising campers in and around cabins and shower house and other tasks to facilitate a smooth program. You work with all age groups of campers with ages ranging from 5-18. You will need high enthusiasm for working with children of various ages with a strong dedication to safety and fun. You will be based at Greenland Point 4-H Camp in Princeton, Maine. You will work closely with the camp directors to assist with the smooth daily operations and camp programming. You will work a full summer schedule from early to mid June through early to mid August. You will reside on-site throughout the season. You may live in cabins with campers based on program needs. You will generally work Sunday thru Friday with occasional Saturday work. You will receive daily time off Monday through Thursday and weekends off are Friday late afternoon thru Sunday morning. $3,000 - $6,000 for the season (6 to 10 weeks), commensurate with experience. Responsibilities: + You will teach camper programs in areas such as conservation education, wilderness survival, boating, outdoor cooking, and more. + You will supervise and lead activities for groups while staff are taking time off. + You will plan lessons, lead activities, mentor campers, and create opportunities for campers to learn and explore the outdoors through high-quality experiences. + You will attend and actively participate in a one-week paid staff training, where you will learn, practice, and review practical skills. + You will assist camp counselors in resolving group conflicts and addressing camper situations as needed. + You will lead all camper lessons and activities for your group, implementing a curriculum that covers skills such as listening, communication, team-building, boating skills and safety, outdoor cooking, conservation education, wilderness survival, map and compass navigation, general ecology, and more. + You will live in a cabin with up to nine campers, creating a supportive, fun, and positive living environment. + You will co-lead a variety of one- to two-week-long programs for various age groups. + You will supervise and ensure the safety of campers at all times, encouraging problem-solving and decision-making while facilitating the resolution of group conflicts. + You will contribute to community living by participating in chores (helping hands), meal service, and any necessary maintenance duties. + You will attend and participate in staff meetings as scheduled. + You will model positive energy, clear communication, and good stewardship of the environment. + You will actively engage with campers during lessons, activities, and mealtimes to foster a supportive community. + You will regularly evaluate the program with the Director to enhance the overall camp experience.
