Position Overview:

As part of the talented Freedom Boat Club team (the nation’s oldest and largest private member boat club), you will be working with a team of Dock Staff on our varied fleet of boats, as a key role of a Fleet Maintenance Dock Hand! We are looking for a mechanically inclined individual that will perform light maintenance on our vessels and diligently utilize our Fleetio fleet management software to log the work completed. This individual should also be able to demonstrate basic customer service skills, as the role will interact on a regular basis with our members.

Essential Functions:

Troubleshoot and perform light maintenance on vesselsOwn the process of entering and updating the Fleetio softwareFollow all company policies and proceduresMaintain confidentiality of proprietary informationWelcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standardsAnticipate and address guests' service needsSpeak with others using clear and professional languageMake and answer telephone calls using appropriate etiquetteSupport team to reach common goalsComply with quality assurance expectations and standardsPerform other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors

Required Qualifications:

Pass a background check and drug screenValid driver’s license and good driving recordValid CT Safe Boating LicenseAt least 18 years of ageHigh school diploma or equivalentAbility to utilize a tablet and the Fleetio softwareVision adequate to read / manipulate handheld computer tabletsHighly effective communication skills and friendly customer serviceMust be a self-starter and capable of working unsupervisedMaintain a clean work areaAdhere to all safety policiesMaintain a cooperative, team attitude in working with supervisors and fellow employees

Preferred Qualifications:

Fleet maintenance backgroundBoating experience in and around boatsProven experience using applicationsHigh attention to detailAbility to maintain a calm, positive attitude during periods of high activity

Working Conditions:

Work outdoors and in various weather conditions for an extended period of time Work in a marina setting on docks that may be fixed or floating Work near and on the water Safely move on, off and in vessels during various tide and weather conditions Work outside in the state’s elements and stand for an extended period of timeReliable transportation is requiredLocal travel requiredMileage reimbursement provided

The anticipated pay for this position is $18.00, hourly.
