Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Manufacturing Operations Manager 2.  This position is located in Ogden, UT and supports the SDS Division.

What You’ll Get to Do:  

The Manufacturing Operations Manager 2 is accountability to the Manufacturing Operations Manager 3.  As the Manager of Manufacturing Operations 2, your team will oversee and manage the manufacturing and operational aspects of manufacturing, production, and prototyping at the EDA in Ogden, Utah. Your team will be responsible for the safety of the employees, delivering quality products on time and within customer cost targets while maintaining a culture of continuous improvement.   

 

The ideal candidate should demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of manufacturing foundational processes, encompassing knowledge of shop floor processes and best practices (FOD control, ESD practices, 5S, Tool & Property control etc.), efficient material flow, product life cycle management, cost center structuring, manufacturing execution systems (MES) knowledge, product configuration management, traceability and government approval procedures for sell-off.   

 

In addition, the candidate will provide the people, skills, processes & training for successful achievement of program and division goals in the manufacturing and production environment.  They will manage and present status on cost, schedule, and performance for all projects within the area; assess issues and develop mitigation plans to meet productivity, quality, cost, and delivery goals.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

 

You’ll Bring These Qualifications: 

Bachelor's Degree with a minimum 6 years of relevant professional experience, or a Master’s Degree with a minimum of 4 years of relevant professional experience; 4 additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

2+ years of relevant experience in engineering or manufacturing.  

At least 1 year leading a project and/or driving performance against schedule.

1+ years of experience leading manufacturing, production, or manufacturing integration.  

Must have U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain an interim Secret Security level clearance pre-start, with the ability to obtain a final Secret Security level clearance post-start.  

Must be able to attain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP) within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs.

 

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have: 

Experience leading manufacturing/production/integration & test teams in a production environment.

A proven track record of developing and implementing strategies for change.  

Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with all levels of Manufacturing, Program, Engineering, Functional Support Management, and Professionals  

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Excellent verbal and written communications skills.  

Prior experience operating in a dynamic environment of increasing production schedules and high delivery rates.  

Aerospace / ICBM Industry Experience.

Prior experience in program start-up. 

Experience working with Systems Applications and Products (SAP).  

Knowledge of Manufacturing Management Plan requirements and transitioning to production.  

Prior experience interfacing with prime contractor site leads and USAF leadership personnel.  

Demonstrated success leading teams/and or organizations to achieve a common goal.  

Ability to effectively work within a team environment.

Active DoD Secret clearance and applicable SAP accesses.

Salary Range: $111,700.00 - $167,500.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
