Our work depends on SCRUM Master joining our team to support ENERGY STAR's Qualified Products Exchange team in the continued development, testing, operations, and maintenance of its data collection, validation, storage, reporting, and publication solutions. The candidate will be responsible for organizing and leading sprints for our Agile software development team. The candidate will also be expected to assist with business process analyst duties to help define the scope of development work and perform some quality assurance on ENERGY STAR products created by the software team.
Scrum Master/Jr. Project Manager responsibilities
Run daily standup and follow up on impediments
Coach the team on agile and scrum methods and advocate for software development best practices and improved test coverage
Lead, implement, and document improvements/updates to team processes and workflows
Set up and manage the team's scrum sprints (collect and track team and individual capacity, sprint start and end dates, identification of priorities, maintenance of related documentation)
Plan and facilitate sprint ceremonies and release planning
Create and maintain the release document for each release and the quarterly IT-planning roadmap/slide deck for coordination with the infrastructure team
Serve as a proxy for the Product Owner in backlog cultivation and refinement, prioritization of items, and low-level requirements decisions
Create Jira cards and write user stories and acceptance tests
Lead team card grooming activities
Maintain Jira card metadata, including charge codes for proper billing, issue filters, and scrum board configuration
Surface, track, and resolve development team impediments like infrastructure ticket requests, access issues, missing requirements, dependencies, etc.
Perform Jira pulls, format data, and write bullet points detailing the team's monthly accomplishments for the program's Monthly Status Report slide deck
Serve as admin for the team's Jira project and Confluence space
Oversee the team's adherence to program-wide policies and procedures like the Section 508 testing process and system access protocols
Along with the tech lead, representing the team as needed in ENERGY STAR management meetings
Business Process Analyst responsibilities
Elicit, refine and document requirements for new and existing custom software
Collect, analyze, review and/or validate data used by project tools as needed and communicate with contacts for various data sources to resolve any issues found.
Own the dataflow for custom consumer incentive tools and provide guidance on what impacts data quality issues or changes might have.
Maintain the dataset linking the incentive web tools and the Product Finders
Coordinate meetings, capture meeting notes and action steps, and create and maintain timelines for custom tools or efforts like the annual Most Efficient change over
Perform manual testing of custom tools, including 508 testing
Create, update, and deprecate public and private datasets and filtered views in Socrata and maintaining API names
Draft, seek approval on, and post Products API announcements in a Google group
Maintain Socrata dataset metadata and fulfill platform-level metadata inquiries
Add and track Products calendar milestones like spec cessation dates, close of initial certifications, effective dates, and mailing dates and carry these through to Jira cards for the appropriate assignees and dates
Collect requirements for, edit images, and make updates to the Product Finder carousel slide dataset
Perform a technical review of spec-related requirements for QPX, Qualified Product List, and Product Finder updates, including reconciliation of field changes, assessing system impacts and returning any questions or issues found to the SME
Develop wireframes or mock-ups as needed (Balsamiq/Figma)
Organize and maintain team documentation and metadata in the team's Confluence space
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
● Education: Technical Training, Certification(s) or Degree
College degree (B.S.) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Management Systems, or a related discipline. Experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
● Required Experience: 3+ years of related experience
● Required Skills and Abilities:
Experience in data analysis and data quality
Strong analytical aptitude and written and spoken communication skills
● Preferred Skills:
Experience with Jira and Confluence
Proactive, self-starter who utilizes collaboration and relationship building to reach team goals.
Certified Scrum Master/Scrum Practitioner or SAFe Agilist or willing to pursue Agile certifications
