SCM Domain Architect

Introduction to the job

IT R&D is responsible for the complete software development environment that is used by more than 5000 software developers within ASML. This environment is developed and supported in close cooperation with the ASML software development community. Key challenge is to balance the delivery of the state of the art development environment while safeguarding the stability, reliability and support of mature development environments.

The complexity and size of the environment requires efficient collaboration between domain owners, domain architects and domain specialists responsible for the different domains (such as CI/CD, Workplace and Plan Domains) to design the future development environment.

Role and responsibilities

You’ll be the go-to person with comprehensive experience and knowledge in your own specialized field with a deep understanding of the theoretical concepts and principles and your context, and fully competent in applying this knowledge to a wide range of situations. Your mission will be guard and guide the SCM architecture of the different ASML software development environments in close co-operation with other architects, developers, integrators and domain architects and specialists.

As Domain Architect, you’ll:

Act as an expert in an area of technology, policy and regulation or operational management for a light ART or specific technology scope. You contribute to mature IT Architecture competences and define and contribute to the Target and Transitional IT Architectures, ensure (X-)ART alignment and use them in defining the Incremental solutions. Contribute to our Enterprise Architecture productsUnderstand the Business master plan of the assigned ART / solution and translate this into required IT Architecture. Maintain an agreed set of enterprise architecture artifacts. Manage enabler features that articulate business requirements align with the architecture roadmapApply architectural principles and policies in the defined architecture / solution design and provide feedback based upon experiences and need. Plan for the reuse of code, components and proven patternsCollects business requirements using a variety of methods such as interviews, document analysis, workshops, and workflow analysis to understand and acknowledge the requirements in terms of target user roles and goals. Verifies the adequacy of standard application capabilities to fulfill the requirementProvides the Architectural vision in PI Planning. Communicate the incremental system architecture (ISA) towards the Agile teams as input for design and team planning activities. Validate if Solution Sesigns are in line with the provided architecture direction. Ensure that IT design and IT architecture is documented including detailed process-IT mapsUses the documented "As Is" and "To Be" processes to lead a collaborative digital product/service design process within the scope of the capability architecture
Synchronizes the following disciplines across Solutions when applicable: system/data security, quality, production infrastructure, solution user experience and non-functional requirements (NFRs)Explores, conducts basic research and develops a detailed understanding of external developments or emerging issues and contributes to the evaluation of their potential impact on, or usefulness to, the organizationMaintains and renews a deep knowledge and understanding of the organization's policies and procedures and of relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct, and ensures own work adheres to required standards. Or Identifies, within the team, patterns of non-compliance with the organization's policies and procedures, and with relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct, taking appropriate action to report and resolve these and escalating issues as appropriate with focus on information security


 

Education and experience
To help us tackle the technical challenges we face, you’ll need experience working on High Tech products & with complex processes. As Domain Architect, you’ll need:

5+ years proven experience working as a software engineer working in a highly complex technical and corporate environment3+ years proven experience working as a senior architect, creating and aligning requirements and designs for SW development environment ecosystems, with cross-team scopeProven experience in writing technical documents and proven ability to communicate effectively in academic-level English with both technical and business stakeholdersExperience as technical lead/software architect for at least 3 yearsExtensive experience in software configuration management, including hands-on experience with various programming languages, frameworks, and toolsExperience with version control systems such as GitHub/ClearCase/SVN/BitbucketExperience with artifact management tools such as JFrog, Artifactory/Nexus

This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the United States Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.
