Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location.  The anticipated wage for this position is

$51,000 - $148,500

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Post-Doctoral Process Development Scientist should be self-starter, independent, and works well under tight timelines. Should be Interfaces with external groups to ensure accurate and timely completion/delivery of projects, investigations, information and/or preparation/review of technical reports. Scientist will be responsible for technical interrogation of the various excipients and formulation blends obtained from different manufacturing platforms to support our company's pipeline. This scientist will utilize a wide variety of analytical instruments and methods, to build fundamental understanding of manufacturing process and functional properties and attributes of excipients, API's, tablets, capsules and formulation blends. This understanding, combined with extensive data analysis/interpretation, will allow preparing good technical reports to summarize the findings and recommendations. Therefore, he/she will playing a leadership role in the design of experiments, and the development and usage of laboratory models suitable for optimizing dry product manufacturing processes;  promoting deep technical excellence and scientific understanding throughout the TS/MS organization;  driving and prioritizing productivity improvements through bench scale experimentation; ensuring successful technical transfers and providing technical support for the dry product process; partnering and networking with the Indianapolis Product and Process Development Group and TS/MS organization and the multidisciplinary Process Team to troubleshoot and improve the capability of manufacturing processes; executing with  good documentation and laboratory practices; and promoting and modeling by example compliance to GLPs, health, safety and environmental regulations.

Basic Qualifications

Ph.D. in a life science related field (Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Pharmacy, etc.)Research experience using laboratory equipment and powder characterization technologies is preferred. Demonstrated strong scientific and technical knowledge in dry product formulation, statistical data analysis, technical writing, and project management.
