Within our Analytical Services team, we have a functional service provider solution, which is a unique partnership that allows our customers to leverage the experience of our staff, while allowing you, the employee, to gain direct experience working onsite at a pharmaceutical/ biopharmaceutical company, all while maintaining full-time benefits.
Key responsibilities:The Stem Cell Scientist delivers reliably and responsibly on research initiatives including the development of human stem cell models and assays to evaluate targets and lead molecules for diseases. Applies technical proficiency and attention to detail skills in “troubleshooting”, and ability to interpret changes in methodological design. Works with supervisor in setting the objectives of initiatives but may have responsibility for some experimental design.
Key Duties:Executes, and interprets experiments, with a high degree of reliabilityLeverages technical experience to help prioritize studies, based on Project impactPerforms basic statistical analysis of experimental data, where appropriateConducts own experimental troubleshooting on routine problemsAssists with publication and patent submission processesPrepares lucid protocols and written study reportsSurveys relevant scientific literature to maintain awareness of issues and trends within the fieldPresent studies effectively at internal Group/Department or Project Team research meetingsPerforms other duties as assignedEducation and Experience:Bachelor's degree in lab sciences such as Chemistry, Biochemistry, Material Science, Immunology, Biology, Molecular Biology or similarScientist: Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 2+ years’)OR Masters degreeIn some cases, an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Proven technical proficiency and demonstrated skill in conducting and interpreting experiments including the development of human stem cell models and assays to evaluate targets and lead molecules for diseases.Uses technical knowledge to design and execute follow-up experimentsDemonstrated understanding of analysis and interpretation of experimental data with proficiencyin problem solving and protocol refinementOften deployed to investigations with more significant consequences and need for reliabilityEffective communicator (written and verbal), especially within their technical area(s)Working Environment:Below is listed the working environment/requirements for this role:
