We are looking for a Scientist Process Development to join to the Process Development group within CMC - Scientific Innovation Office Division at Instituto Grifols SA. Grifols is company specialized in the research, development and production of purified plasma proteins with therapeutic properties obtained from the fractionation of human plasma.
Specifically, Process Development group is in charge of the Scale-Up, the Industrialization and the Technology Transfer to Manufacturing area of new purification processes for the new drugs developed at Grifols R&D, as well as at external companies.
The main mission will be to join a multidisciplinary group to carry out the necessary activities to implement an new manufacturing process in an industrial facility.
What your responsibilities will be
Designing, developing, and/or qualifying new protein purification process steps to improve the current existing commercial ones (by evaluating current technologies as well as the most innovative purification technologies such as chromatography, ultrafiltration, etc.). Preparing and executing purification process protocols and process instructions. Compiling, analyzing, and interpreting process parameters and analytical results obtained in the experimental processes. Summarizing procedures, results, and conclusions to communicate them internally and to management (via PowerPoint). Summarizing procedures, results, and conclusions into technical documentation (reports), signing and accepting responsibility for them. Participating in the preparation of general documentation that affects the R&D Area, including standard operating procedures, etc.

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in biotechnology or chemistry engineering (or equivalent). Experience in a similar position in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry will be valued. Advanced level of English, minimum C1 required. Most projects are managed in English. Positive attitude, capacity to learn new abilities and knowledge and ability to work in a team. Good communication skills. Analytical and accuracy skills. Knowledge of Microsoft Office and statistical analysis.
