Adecco Healthcare & Life Sciences is hiring a contract Scientist III for our Pharmaceutical partner in Framingham, MA. The anticipated hourly wage for this position is between $80 and $86. Hourly wage may depend upon experience, education, geographic location, and other factors. Available paid leave may include Paid Sick Leave, where required by law; any other paid leave required by Federal, State, or local law; and Holiday pay upon meeting eligibility criteria **Process Engineer IV – Manufacturing Science** Department Overview: The Manufacturing Science team plays a critical role in biologics manufacturing by ensuring that processes remain capable, compliant, controlled, cost-effective, and continuously improved. This team provides technical leadership, process monitoring, root cause investigation, and drives continuous improvement and innovation in manufacturing operations. **Key Responsibilities:** Serve as the technical lead for manufacturing processes, offering expertise to manufacturing and quality teams. Monitor process performance through CPV (Continued Process Verification) and drive data-driven improvements. Lead root cause investigations and troubleshoot issues during production to ensure process stability and compliance. Contribute to process scale-up, manufacturability analysis, PAT (Process Analytical Technology) implementation, and cost analysis for new facility designs and process improvements. Develop and implement digital process data analytics systems to optimize performance. Work cross-functionally with Process Development, Regulatory, and Quality teams to support process lifecycle management and regulatory documentation. **Basic Qualifications:** Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Biochemical Engineering (or related field) with 7+ years of relevant experience. Master’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience. Ph.D. with 3+ years of relevant experience in the biopharmaceutical or pharmaceutical industry. Preferred Qualifications: Strong problem-solving skills with a proven ability to apply engineering principles to complex technical challenges. Hands-on expertise with biologics downstream operations, including filtration, UF/DF, chromatography, viral clearance, and extractables/leachables analysis. Solid understanding of cGMP requirements, regulatory expectations, and quality frameworks. Experience with process data analytics tools and computerized manufacturing systems (DCS, Process Data Historians, LIMS, MES). Demonstrated leadership in project management, cross-functional collaboration, and continuous improvement initiatives. Ability to work independently, make informed decisions, and navigate ambiguous situations effectively. Strong communication and technical writing skills, with experience engaging with business partners and senior management.
