Scientist I, QCLocation/Division Specific Information

Miami, Fl Site / Biologicals and Chemicals Division, Monday- Friday 2nd Shift

As a Scientist I, QC you will be performing testing on raw materials, in-process samples, finished products, etc. according to applicable procedures with GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices), GLPs (Good Laboratory Practices) and ISO 9001 / ISO13485. A day in the Life:Conduct routine testing of solutions and raw material per compendial methods and established methods.Recognize and report out-of-specification or unexpected results. Clearly and accurately communicate the results of work by generating documentation of the testing/analysis and acquired results.Record and report results of analysis in accordance with prescribed lab procedures and systems.Collect manufacturing support samples (water, environment, and gowning) and perform analysis applicable site procedures. Maintain environmental trending data.Contribute to writing/updating SOPs and Work Instructions (WINs) if needed.Perform daily lab cleaning, preventative maintenance of equipment, ordering of supplies, and autoclaving of equipment.Perform all duties in strict compliance with Standard Operating Procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices, GLPs, and Safety guidelines.Maintain the necessary compliance status required by company and facility standardsMaintain Laboratory inventory. Order supplies, reagents, equipment, and materials.Keys to Success:EducationBachelor’s degree required in a scientific field, preferably a Microbiology.ExperienceMinimum 1 - 3 years of proven experience working in a cGMP and lab environment.1-3 years in basic Microbiological testing.Analytical Chemistry experience a plusKnowledge, Skills, Abilities

This candidate will have knowledge of GMP and GLP regulations in a manufacturing environment. Along with excellent organizational skills, a strong attention to detail and operating procedures will be needed in this continually evolving, fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

You have the ability to work safely with materials and equipment with potential exposure to fumes and chemicals such as raw materials, cleaners, reagents, etc. Various levels of gowning are required - Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required including but not limited to: lab coats, hair / beard covers, shoe covers, gloves, ear protection, respiratory protection, eye protection, cleanroom suits and head coverings as required.
