Scientific Support Specialist

Bio-Techne, and all of its brands, provides tools for researchers to further treat and prevent disease worldwide.** Pay Range: $49,700.00 - $81,650.00 **POSITION SUMMARY** The responsibilities of this position are to provide technical support on company products, with a focus on first-class customer experience. Serve as customer contact on technical and service-related problems. Demonstrate uses and advantages of company products. Utilize scientific experience and work closely with sales, marketing, QA/QC, research and development to address customer concerns, determine corrective action and customer follow-up. Normally receives no instructions on routine work and general instructions on new assignments. Participate in selected Subject Matter Expert (SME) team. This includes developing and maintaining Subject Matter (SM) materials. This position is eligible to receive a target annual cash bonus based on individual and company performance, in accordance with company policy. **ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS** • Offers technical support to customers on use of company products (complaint follow-up and answering customer questions, etc.). • Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis requires evaluation of identifiable factors. • Works with other members of SME team in developing and maintaining SM materials. • Writes, edits, and maintains technical literature (Q/A database, product inserts, protocols, and Wiki site). • Keeps up to date on current technology and use of product line (attending seminars, reading current scientific literature, using products in lab). • Provides guidance and recommendations on products based on end user needs and research interests, and utilizes customer interactions to improve business opportunities. • Coordinates Notifications, including Field Notifications, Discontinuations and New Product Releases. • Provides Technical Training and literature for internal customers. • Follows company policies and practices as outlined in the Handbook and follows guidelines regarding safety as outlined in the AWAIR, Chemical Hygiene and Exposure Control manuals in accordance with the job. • Performs additional duties as assigned. **JOB QUALIFICATIONS** **Education and Experience:** • This position requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in molecular biology, laboratory science, immunology, cell biology, biochemistry or equivalent with a minimum of 2 to 5 years of related experience. • Normally receives no instruction on routine work, general instructions on new assignments. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel are required. Computer entry and/or typing skills are desirable. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and have excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing. **Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:** • Knowledge about the Biotech division (RSD) products and their development, manufacturing, quality control and uses, competitor(s) and their product offerings, and the biomedical marketplace, as well as the ability to continually gain in-depth knowledge. • Willingness and ability to work with a variety of computer applications and quickly apply these tools to fulfill the duties of the job with respect to communications, documentation, data analysis and customer support.
