Job Summary:

The Clinical Coordinator, School of Radiologic Technology, functions as instructor, facilitator, and coordinator of a broad range of educational activities. This individual focuses on clinical performance, technical/clinical competencies, didactic education, and professional and personal development of Radiologic Technology students. This position efficiently and effectively instructs Radiologic Technology students to prepare them to function as Radiologic Technologists and to sit for the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification examination in Radiography. The incumbent in this position will support the mission, vision, values and strategic initiatives of Mary Washington Healthcare and must demonstrate a commitment to quality service to patients, physicians, the public and co-workers.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

Provides primary instruction, supervision, and evaluation of students in the clinical setting; provides quality educational services that comply with accreditation requirements.Designs, implements and coordinates educational activities to meet identified adult learning needs and promote knowledge and skill development.Coordinates students’ clinical schedules and experiences with Imaging Department operations to integrate educational experiences into quality patient care. Confers and counsels with students regarding competency evaluations, clinical evaluations, and ongoing clinical performance to monitor students’ progress.Mentors clinical instructors and competency evaluators.Develops utilizes and analyzes appropriate evaluative systems to determine the effectiveness of educational activities.Interfaces effectively with medical and clinical staff to maintain high educational standards and to effectively serve students and patients.Assumes accountability for own professional development and job proficiency.

Qualifications:

Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiography.Associate's Degree required, Bachelor's Degree in Radiologic Technology preferred.Bachelor's Degree in Radiologic Technology required within twenty-four (24) months upon hire. One year of Radiologic Technology teaching, other health care teaching, or instructional experience is required.Three years of experience as a radiographer is preferred.Advanced standing ARRT credentials preferred.Strong computer skills relevant to position are required.Effective interpersonal and communication skills are required.
