School Nurse Summer position | July - August | $45/hr

Salary: $45 / Hour
The School Nurse assumes responsibility and accountability for the application of the nursing process and the delivery of student/client care and/or contracted services in a school setting. The School Nurse may also be in a supervisory position within the contracted services. The School Nurse provides services in accordance with Amergis Healthcare’s philosophy, standards, policies and physician orders.
Minimum Requirements:
+ Graduate of an accredited registered, practical or vocational nursing program
+ Licensed as a Licensed Practical, Licensed Vocational or Registered Nurse in state(s) where practicing
+ One year of professional experience, preferred
+ Current CPR
+ PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
+ Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
+ Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
+ Must be at least 18 years of age
General Comments
Location: Southwestern Elem, Bloom, LoGuidice,Parkdale
Hours: 8:15 AM - 2:15 PM
Duration: July 7 - August 15
Responsibilities:
+ Provide nursing services to students.
+ Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
+ Monitor and manage student health needs.
+ Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services provided.
+ Participate in team meetings and training sessions.
Qualifications:
+ Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
+ Experience working with children in a school setting preferred.
+ Strong communication and organizational skills.
For Southwestern Elem and Bloom. confirming if below details are okay for the other two schools
Responsibilities:
+ Provide nursing services to students, including administering daily medications and handling minor injuries such as scrapes, cuts, and falls.
+ Follow updated physician's orders.
+ Maintain regular school nurse documentation (charting method unknown).
+ Collaborate with the school principal for clinical support and to answer any questions.
+ Ensure no delegation of nursing tasks to other staff such as aides or unlicensed personnel.
+ No requirement to train district staff.
+ Handle medical needs within a special education program, with no high medical needs or trach/vent care required.
Qualifications:
+ Licensed Registered Nurse (RN).
+ Experience working in a school setting preferred.
+ Strong communication and organizational skills.
Additional Information:
+ No orientation or training provided prior to the assignment starting.
+ Lunch and breaks should be taken without coverage.
+ Unknown number of students with medical needs in the building.
