School Nurse Associate JobID: 1400 + Position Type: Student Support Services/ School Nurse + Date Posted: 5/1/2025 + Location: Ballard Middle School + Date Available: 08/01/2025 Job Title: Nurse Associate Reports to: Building Principal Basic Function: Under the general supervision or direction of the Building Principal and the school nurse, the nurse associate will carry out a variety of treatments and procedures necessary for providing health care services to meet the medical and physical needs of all students. Essential Functions: ? Works collaboratively with health care providers, student’s parents, school district staff, and community agencies to ensure access and continuity of care for students. ? Assist in the maintenance of cumulative health records and mandatory immunization certificates for all students. ? Assume authority, in the absence of a physician, for the care of a student or staff member who has suffered injury or emergency illness. ? Advise on the exclusion and readmission of students in connection with infections and contagious diseases. ? Administer prescription and over-the-counter medication to students when the medications are to be taken during school hours. ? Assist in a program for the care of disabled children. ? Maintain high integrity and confidentiality in the school operation. ? Be knowledgeable of and abide by all school board policies, procedures, and other applicable laws. ? Cooperate with and work in a courteous manner with co-workers and other personnel. ? Dress appropriately for the position and work required. ? Demonstrate a positive attitude toward school, students, and job and communicate the same to the community. ? Accept constructive criticism and suggestions and seek to improve each performance responsibility. ? Demonstrate organization and professionalism in fulfilling the responsibilities of the job. ? Greet all students, faculty, staff, and visitors courteously ? Attend work on a prompt and regular basis. Specifications/Qualifications: ? Possession of Nurse Assistant Certification ? Certified in CPR and First Aid. Evaluation: Job performance will be evaluated annually by the District Registered Nurse and the Building Principal.
