Pay:

$53053 - $60480.42 annually$3000 sign on bonus (1/2 paid in your first paycheck and the other 1/2 after 90 days of hire)

The Glenholme School:

 

For over 50 years -- The Glenholme School, part of Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health, has provided a comprehensive residential program and services for children with learning differences and special needs. Located in picturesque Washington, CT the School Counselor will be part of a cohesive, passionate and dynamic team. The selected candidate will foster Devereux’s mission and values of quality care as well as providing top-notch and individualized therapeutic care for our students.

Schedule:

Monday- Friday 9am-4pm

 

Primary Responsibilities Include:

Provide case management services to identify students with regard to education issues such as course and program selection, class scheduling, adjustment, study habits, and career planningProvide vocational programming support and coordination of internship sites (off campus)Assist with standardized test prep as well as provide academic skills supportAdvise students to help them understand and overcome personal, social, or behavioral problems affecting their education or vocational situationsMeet with parents/guardians as well as other teachers/administrators to discuss student's progress Make recommendations for courses and program planningConsult with special education teachers on goals and IEPsCoordinate any state testing as well as admissions testsPlan student graduation as well as any senior trips Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in psychology, sociology, education or related or related field required (Master's degree is a plus)CT 068 School Counselor certificate requiredSPED Certification preferred3 years of experience within the field of education preferred
