School Bus Office Assistant
Miller Brothers Staffing is actively seeking a School Bus Office Assistant.

Pay: $18-$20

Shift: 1st Shift 

Job Summary:
The School Bus Office is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of school bus transportation services. This role involves ensuring compliance with safety regulations, managing driver and aide schedules, route planning, and maintaining excellent relationships with school personnel. The candidate will utilize transportation software, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and coordinate drug testing. Key Responsibilities: Operational Supervision: Supervise school bus drivers and aides, ensuring proper scheduling and coverage for all routes. Manage the assignment of substitute drivers and aides as needed to maintain operational continuity. Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with federal and state transportation regulations, including vehicle inspections, drug testing, and other safety protocols. Utilize compliance software to track and maintain driver qualifications, training certifications, safety records, and other regulatory requirements. Route Planning and Optimization: Monitor and adjust routes as needed to accommodate changes in student enrollment, road conditions, or other factors affecting transportation. Reporting and Documentation: Assist in the reconciliation of payroll for bus drivers and aides based on trip reports and timesheets. Maintain accurate records of fuel receipts, trip logs, and other operational data for review by management. Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports on operations, driver performance, and vehicle status. Driver and Aide Support: Participate in monthly safety meetings and ensure ongoing education for drivers and aides. Investigate and resolve any disciplinary issues related to driver or aide conduct, student behavior, or route safety. Assist in training drivers and aides on safety protocols, route management, and customer service standards. Communication and Coordination: Maintain strong relationships with school district personnel, providing timely updates on transportation changes, route adjustments, or delays. Respond to parent or school inquiries regarding transportation issues, addressing concerns or complaints as needed. Attend school board meetings when required and conduct bus evacuation drills in coordination with school staff. Administrative Tasks: Coordinate the receipt and distribution of interoffice mail. Manage day-to-day manual tasks as required, including basic administrative support for the transportation office. Qualifications: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), with the capability of learning a new job-specific software. High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred. Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. High-proficiency Communication skills. Work Conditions: Primarily office-based but may require occasional travel to inspect bus routes, meet with school officials, or attend district meetings.
