Scaffolding Supervisor

Purpose

The Scaffolding Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the safe setup, modification, inspection, and dismantling of scaffolding systems in compliance with HSSE standards and legal requirements. This role involves overseeing scaffold-related activities, managing subcontractors, and promoting a culture of safety on-site.

 

Responsibilities

1. Scaffold Management

Review and monitor plans for scaffold staging, erection, modification, and dismantling. Coordinate with the Construction Team to align scaffold plans with project requirements. Maintain daily reports on scaffold activities, manpower, and progress.

2. Planning & Estimation

Participate in design reviews and resource planning (e.g., scaffold type, weight limits, fall protection). Review weekly scaffold activity plans and inventory management of scaffolding materials.

3. Health, Safety, Security & Environment (HSSE)

Lead and promote HSSE initiatives, including site inspections and safety campaigns. Ensure compliance with IOGP standards, HSSE Management Systems, and legal regulations. Conduct weekly "Safety Time-Out" sessions for scaffold teams.

4. Inspections & Supervision

Verify daily inspections and documentation of scaffold conditions by contractors. Witness and monitor subcontractor activities to ensure adherence to safety protocols. Assess scaffold integrity and address potential hazards.

5. Training & Competence

Ensure all scaffold team members are certified and competent for assigned tasks. Provide guidance on Work-at-Height and scaffold safety practices.
