Olsten Staffing is assisting a local client in Marshville, North Carolina to find an experienced and eager **saw filer** to join their growing team! The main responsibility of a saw filer is to direct, coordinate, and perform a variety of saw sharpening operations to include precision smoothing, sharpening, polishing, grinding, hammering and re-tipping of metal band, round saws and chipper knives. **Specific Duties/Responsibilities:** + Must use extreme caution in handling all saws during the automated and hand applications process. + Good judgement in determining various methods and procedures in correcting and maintaining proper yield from saws and knives. + Maintain safe work area and conditions to include proper handling of cylinders, grinders and chemical storage tank and all other equipment. + Direct, assist and perform saw changes on band saws and other as needed while keeping safety as a top priority. + Perform other duties as assigned. **Job Qualifications:** + Excellent attendance. + Excellent hand/eye coordination. + Thorough knowledge of saw sharpening equipment and procedures. + Maintain and coordinate incoming and outgoing of EWPI saw and knife sharpening needs. + Follow prescribed EWPI safety rules and regulations, keep area clean and in an orderly fashion. + Direct and coordinate (based on demand usage) normal and overtime hours needed to eliminate downtime in saw department. Pay rate for this position will range between $20 - $25 an hour.
