Project Kuiper is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). Its mission is to bring fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities around the world. Project Kuiper will help close the digital divide by delivering fast, affordable broadband to a wide range of customers, including consumers, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in places without reliable connectivity.
Be part of the team integrating and verifying the system level architecture of Project Kuiper’s broadband wireless system from customer end points to terrestrial gateways via Low Earth Orbit satellites. This is a unique opportunity to define a wireless solution with few legacy constraints.
From directly interacting with numerous backend services supporting the mission, to controlling systems such as satellites and ground infrastructure, to automating equipment to support validation, opportunities to learn and develop are extensive!
Expected up-to 30% travel to Redmond campus.
Export Control Requirement
Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Key job responsibilities
- Develop and maintain software solutions for automation, reporting, and tasks related to both in-lab and in-orbit payload & TT&C links verification.
- Enhance existing architecture utilized by the team used for automating test best bring-ups, verifications, and configuration management.
- Leverage various Amazon Web Services (AWS) to support automation solutions such as SMS, Lambda, CloudWatch, Systems Manager, S3, etc.
- Use software development best practices such as automated code testing and CI/CD
