**Job Description**
We are looking for a **Sandblast Operator** to operate a wide variety of sandblasting machines. This position will be a **full-time** 8 month contract and **on-site** . 2nd shift Mon-Thurs 4:30pm-3am.
**What You'll Do**
+ Operates a wide variety of Sandblasting machines
+ Performs routine or repetitive operations in a manner, which will consistently meet quality requirements and production standards
+ Actively participates in continuous improvement activities
+ Works from drawings and/or specifications as well as Traveler instructions
+ Evaluates job performance compared to established production and quality standards
+ Makes suggestions to design new fixtures and for improvements to processes to enhance operations
+ Maintains files for set-up procedures and required tooling, as needed, to manufacture parts to specifications
+ Conducts quality checks through the use of fixed or adjustable precision measuring devices
+ Lubricates and cleans machines as necessary
+ Maintains work area in a neat and orderly condition. Works safely, and complies with all established safety rules and work practices
+ Complies with Company, Department, and quality policies and procedures as applicable
+ Keeps Operations Manager informed of job related problems and other information related to work activity
+ Maintains a positive attitude and promotes a “team” approach throughout the Department.
+ Performs multiple operations as required
+ Performs related work as apparent or assigned
**What You'll Need**
Required:
+ Ability to read blueprints and use measuring instruments
+ 6 months to 2 years of Sandblasting experience in a job shop environment or related experience
+ Strong mechanical aptitude and problem solving skills
+ Willing to learn; acceptable to training
+ Steel Toe Shoes required
+ PPE will be provided
Preferred:
+ Microscope use
**Physical Demands**
+ Employee is occasionally required to walk, sit, reach, balance, stoop, talk, hear.
+ Must occasionally lift and/or move 40 pounds
+ Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state and local standards
