Sample Registration Technician
Job Title: Sample Registration TechnicianJob Description Responsible for inputting samples into the computer database. Weigh certain samples in their original form for specific policies, with about 15% of the samples received being weighed. Perform data entry of client-specific requirements for testing, including PO numbers and identification properties. Communicate with specific testing departments regarding the required tests (e.g., vitamin testing, lipids testing). Must be flexible and willing to learn new methods to manage the sample load. Essential Skills + Experience in a laboratory setting. + Knowledge of aseptic techniques, plating, and sterile techniques. + Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. + Attention to detail. + Strong work ethic. Additional Skills & Qualifications + AAS or BA degree in Microbiology, Food Sciences, Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field. + Positive attitude. + Ability to work independently and move with purpose. Work Environment Work schedule is Tuesday to Saturday, with hours from 12:30 PM to 9 PM Tuesday to Friday and 9 AM to 5:30 PM on Saturday. This is a 5-month contract-to-hire position. The work environment is fast-paced and detail-oriented, within the Microbiology Business Unit. The lab tests various items such as pet food, ingredients, nutraceuticals, and food dyes. Candidates should be comfortable with a repetitive lab environment and potential overtime of 1-2 hours per day, leading to a 45-50 hour work week. The department has an all-hands-on-deck attitude, requiring openness and willingness to perform a variety of tasks. The dress code includes long pants and closed-toe shoes, with a lab coat and safety glasses provided. The role involves standing for most of the day and performing tasks that require significant hand use. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $16.50 - $18.56 Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
