**Overview** **Sample Receiving Technician** **Imagine your future with us** At ALS, we encourage you to dream big.   When you join ALS, you join a purpose and values-driven team that empowers you to innovate, create, and thrive.  Our global team turns up each day with passion and commitment to do amazing things, always challenging our thinking to find ways to solve some of the world’s most complex problems for a safer, healthier world.  **Responsibilities** **About the role** As a Sample Receiving Technician, your main responsibilitieswill be to receive and process samples from outside clients.   **Work Schedule:  Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm (with flexibility to work on weekends and overtime, based on volume)** **About you:** + Proficient verbal and written communication skills. + Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. + Proficient computer skills, specifically Microsoft Office. + Will receive samples from outside clients + Efficiently process 200+ samples daily. + Will accurately log samples into the laboratory LIMS system. + Willbe responsible fortransporting samples toappropriate storagelocations and disposing of expired samples + Ensure compliance with assigned SOP’s, QA manual and ALS Client Service Manual. + Professional appearance and conduct to both ALS staff and clients. + Other duties as assigned. **Qualifications** **Required Qualification:** + Desire to work in an administrative position in a laboratory setting. + Detail oriented – able to accurately interpret and transcribe information from a client chain of custody into the laboratory computer system. + Good typing / data entry skills. + Familiarity with chemical symbols and general scientific terminology. + Have a demonstrated ability to communicate well in English, both verbal and written. + Ability to multi-task and work as part of a team. + Proven ability to learn new concepts quickly. + High School Diploma / GEDrequired **Physical Demands:** + Must be able to sit, stand, bend, push, pull, stoop and/or crouch up to 100% of the time while performing the duties of this position. + Able to speak and hear clearly while communicating with co-workers and managers. + Able tolift upto 50 lbs. on a consistent basis (may request and use a dolly for situations requiring heavy loads). + Dexterity in hands and fingers tooperateequipment and handle glassware. + Must have average vision andabletoseeto read reports andoperateequipment. + Hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. **Working at ALS **   Our people are our mostvaluable assetand drive our success at ALS. ** ** We are a diverse community of dedicated professionals united by our passion to make a difference in the world.
