PenFed is hiring a (Hybrid) Salesforce Domain Architect at our Tysons, Virginia location. The primary purpose of this job is to provide expert-level direction and support in analyzing complex Salesforce ecosystems, CRM integrations, and cloud technologies. This position involves planning, designing, evaluating, and selecting Salesforce solutions and ensuring alignment with organizational strategies. The role focuses on delivering scalable and robust architectures, producing organization-wide designs and roadmaps, and reviewing project architectural deliverables for enterprise-level impact. This position will participate in projects that address organization-wide needs, assess options, produce organization-wide designs, deliverables, and roadmaps, and review complex project architectural deliverables for credit union-wide impacts. Apply expert-level technical expertise across multiple Salesforce domains, including Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Marketing Cloud, Experience Cloud, and platform capabilities like Flow, Apex, and LWC. Lead the design and implementation of Salesforce solutions, ensuring scalability, performance, and security across applications, integrations, and third-party tools. Manage Salesforce architecture to support enterprise-wide initiatives involving: Application: Configurations, customization, and development with Apex, Visualforce, and LWC. Integrations: Middleware platforms (e.g., MuleSoft), APIs, and event-driven architectures. Data: Data migration, ETL processes, and data governance within Salesforce environments. Drive the adoption of Salesforce best practices, including DevOps methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and Git-based version control. Develop and maintain enterprise-wide Salesforce architecture standards, frameworks, and best practices. Collaborate with IT staff, subject matter experts, business partners, and clients to assess business processes, identify pain points, and define architectural solutions. Design and review Salesforce solutions to ensure alignment with organizational strategies, data governance policies, and technical standards. Lead large and complex Salesforce projects and initiatives that may involve cross-functional teams, cloud-to-cloud integrations, and cutting-edge technologies. Partner with stakeholders to create business case assessments, project justifications, ROI analyses, architectural reviews, and RFP evaluations. Evaluate and recommend Salesforce apps, add-ons, and AppExchange solutions to enhance system capabilities. Provide leadership and guidance to project personnel and architects on Salesforce-related projects. Stay current with Salesforce releases, new features, and industry trends, recommending improvements or innovations to existing Salesforce architecture. Qualifications Equivalent combination of education and experience is considered. Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Advanced technology-focused degrees are a plus. Minimum of nine (9) years of experience in the IT industry, with at least three (3) years in Salesforce architecture, design, and implementation. Proven experience with Salesforce solutions across multiple clouds, including complex integrations and customizations. Expertise in working with Agile and Waterfall project methodologies. Solid understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF or Zachman. Experience implementing Salesforce DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines and version control. Strong knowledge of cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure) and integration platforms like MuleSoft or Dell Boomi. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, such as meeting facilitation, presentation documentation, and interpersonal communications skills. Supervisory Responsibility This position will not supervise employees. Licenses and Certifications One or more Salesforce certifications are required. Salesforce Certified Application Architect. Salesforce Certified System Architect. Salesforce Certified Technical Architect (preferred). Additional certifications in MuleSoft, AWS, or related technologies are advantageous. Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to an indoor office setting with moderate noise. *Most roles require working in an office setting with moderate noise and the ability to lift 25 pounds.* Travel Ability to travel to various worksites and be on-call is required.
