Sales Training Manager
Site Name: USA - Pennsylvania - Philadelphia Posted Date: Mar 10 2025 The Sales Training Manager is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing comprehensive training programs that enhance the capabilities of our sales professionals and account managers. This role focuses on delivering strategic learning solutions in areas including brand strategy, disease state education, contracting processes, and customer segment-specific selling skills. The objective is to equip the sales force with the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively engage with diverse customer segments, including retail, health systems, and public sector clients. Key Responsibilities: Training Program Development: Design and implement learning strategies and programs that align with the organization’s objectives, focusing on a particular topic or a blend of topics for example: brand strategy, disease state education, and contracting capabilities. Content Creation: Develop engaging training materials, including e-learning modules, videos (inclusive of production/editing), workshops, and interactive sessions, tailored to various customer segments such as retail, health systems, and public sector entities. Sales Skills Enhancement: Conduct sales skills training programs to improve the effectiveness of multiple customer-facing roles, covering areas like value-based selling, strategic customer engagement, and business/account planning. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with marketing, regulatory, and compliance teams to ensure training content is accurate, up-to-date, and aligned with brand strategies and regulatory guidelines. Needs Assessment: Evaluate individual and organizational development needs through surveys, interviews, and performance metrics to identify skill gaps and training requirements. Program Evaluation: Assess the effectiveness of training programs by collecting feedback, monitoring performance improvements, and implementing enhancements as needed. Basic Qualifications: 5+ years’ experience in pharmaceutical sales, account management or commercial Sales Training Bachelor’s degree in business, Education, Life Sciences, or a related field Familiarity with adult learning principles and instructional design In-depth knowledge of effective learning and development methods, including familiarity with e-learning platforms and practices Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build rapport with employees and stakeholders at all levels Ability to travel as needed (around 25%) to support training initiatives Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in a related field Selling/leading/training experience with Health Systems, Retail, Public customer segments and/or contracting Proven experience as a Learning and Development Manager, Training Manager, or in a similar role within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry Certification in Learning and Development (e.g., CPLP) or related credentials Proficiency in Learning Management Systems (LMS) and Video editing software Why GSK? The annual base salary for new hires in this position ranges from $130,500 to $217,500 taking into account a number of factors including work location within the US market, the candidate’s skills, experience, education level and the market rate for the role. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program which is dependent on the level of the role.
