**As a Sales Representative you will** ...
+ Be accountable for retail sales and rentals of Volvo GPE equipment in Northern California.
+ Be organized, a self-starter, value relationships and be an effective communicator that will create consistent and clear channels of communication with all department staff, customers, vendors, and management.
+ Champion a “Safety First”, “Customer Focused” and a “Continuous improvement” culture.
+ Enforce and adhere to all company policies, procedures, standards, and values.
+ Maintain excellent customer and employee relations.
+ Work safely at all times and adhere to all VCES safety guidelines, policies, and practices.
**Main Tasks and Responsibilities**
+ Responsible for equipment sales and rentals to a customer base including heavy civil contractors, general contractors, building contractors, utility contractors, & municipalities.
+ Active participation in local industry associations.
+ Preparation of weekly sales forecasts.
+ Utilize the company CRM and other tools to effectively carry out his/hers responsibilities. This includes record of all calls, quotes, visits, and sales to ensure all customer data is accurate. Ensure lost sales are properly reflected in the CRM.
+ Building on existing and foster new customer relationships to increase machine sales, rentals, and parts sales.
+ Maintaining application and product expertise relative to customer base.
+ Completion of competitive business reports.
+ Develop targeted industry marketing programs as required.
+ Requires close working relationships with product support personnel and Rental Manager.
+ Responsible to forward competitive product information, pricing, and industry changes to the Volvo Regional Team.
+ Develop and maintain product application expertise commensurate with Volvo standards on all products marketed by Volvo Construction Equipment.
+ Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

**Education/Professional Qualifications required for the position:**
+ Bachelor’s Degree preferred with a minimum of 1-5 years related experience in construction/equipment industry.
+ 1-4 years of strong sales experience with construction industry products and knowledge in various types of construction & utility applications.
+ Knowledge of experience in distribution-based business (preferably in the Construction Equipment Industry).
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
**Additional Important Requirements:**
+ Fluent in English (written & spoken).
+ Travel required as necessary within the VCES-CA territory.
+ Works with others in a team / office environment.
+ Must have strong human relations skills and the ability to work with people from all backgrounds and cultures, internally and externally, with appropriate influence and ability to resolve complex business issues.
+ Able to perform duties effectively in a fast-paced environment whether working autonomously or under direction.
+ Able to make autonomous decisions based on business situations within the scope of the established authorization directives.
