Estimated annual base pay: $132,000 (minimum) - $165,000 (midpoint) - $198,000 (maximum)

Are you ready to make your mark? If you’re a Sales Manager with Military Services experience, we have an exciting opportunity for you!
The primary responsibility of this position is to serve as main customer interface, satisfy customer requirements and increase business to existing or new accounts. Customer base is medium to larger, with regional focus resulting in significant impact to the business unit.
What you will be doing…
Identifies and pursues strategic business opportunities with new or existing customers
Develops and implements winning strategies for business opportunities
Creates and manages detailed, multi-year account plans to achieve targets
Builds and documents strategic relationships to meet growth, margin, and pricing goals
Inputs customer needs into demand forecasting and oversees revenue forecasting processes
Addresses revenue forecast shortfalls and ensures targets are met
Leads internal and external account reviews to manage customer relationships and mitigate risks
Oversees cross-functional proposal development, pricing strategies, and customer presentations
Develops and executes negotiation strategies for contracts and agreements
Provides market intelligence, supports product launches, and mentors sales team members
What we are looking for…
Bachelor’s degree in arts/sciences (BA/BS) Technical or business discipline OR equivalent experience, knowledge, skills and abilities required
3+ years’ experience in commercial role
Experience negotiating US Government FAR contracts required, and experience negotiating US Government TINA contracts preferred
Extensive Product Knowledge: Deep understanding of Woodward products, including specifications, manufacturing processes, certification impacts, and cost implications
Market Insight: Applies industry knowledge to assess end-user operations, market channels, OEM strategies, and competitive positioning, including cost of ownership and WWD's advantages
Strategy Development: Identifies industry trends, develops value propositions, and creates engagement plans to generate new business opportunities for legacy and adjacent products
Proposal Expertise: Guides RFQ response teams, determines pricing strategies, conducts SWOT analyses, and integrates market sustainability scenarios into business case models
Sales Fundamentals: Builds relationships with decision-makers, identifies sales leads, crafts value propositions, and uses a structured approach to negotiations and closing deals
Marketing Fundamentals: Clearly communicates product value, estimates customer spending, forecasts demand, and gathers competitive intelligence through compliant methods
Customer Influence: Demonstrated ability to influence customers effectively using product knowledge and strategic engagement
Experience: Requires 5+ years of industry experience and expertise in related fields
Business Acumen: Balances relationship-building with delivering compelling value propositions to win contracts and advance Woodward’s market position
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Leverages internal teams to refine strategies and execute plans effectively while maintaining frequent contact with market intelligence sources
