Sales Intern- Montreal, Canada
JOB OBJECTIVE: Seeking a bilingual (English/French) Field-based Intern/Co-Op student for a position starting in September 2024 to enhance engagement with strategic accounts in Montreal. The intern will collaborate with prominent local institutions in the biotech and life sciences sectors, which are key players in innovation across Quebec. They will start with Strategic accounts and work towards high potential Development accounts as defined by the Account Manager. The successful candidate will work hand-in-hand with the Senior Client Representative to map out customers by Market Segment as shown below: CORE DUTIES: 1. Client Engagement, Outreach and Relationship Building: o Engage with strategic accounts using CRM to manage interactions and ensure a robust, responsive relationship. o Use LinkedIn Sales Navigator to identify and connect with potential leads, focusing on stakeholders in firms that are part of Quebec’s growing biotech and pharmaceutical ecosystem. o Schedule and conduct meetings to discuss the benefits of Promega's Portfolio and services, and how these can provide a competitive edge to their research and development efforts. o Utilize PowerBI systems to track and analyze sales data and trends within the Quebec biotech and pharmaceutical sector. Update contacts on CRM. 2. Product and Service Promotion: o Assist in promoting and providing detailed explanations of Promega’s cutting-edge products and services, focusing on how these meet the unique needs of each client. o Help facilitate early access to new products and services, ensuring that strategic accounts are aware of the latest innovations and how they can be integrated into their operations. 3. Content and Data Strategy Using AI Tools: o Employ AI tools such as ChatGPT to develop content strategies, enhance data analysis, and condense research papers to tailor Promega technologies to specific laboratory needs. o Use AI-driven insights to craft personalized communication and marketing materials for different client segments. 4. Sales Tracking and Reporting: o Regularly update CRM with sales progress, client feedback, and market intelligence to optimize sales strategies and tactics. o Analyze sales performance data to understand the impact of strategic initiatives and refine approaches accordingly. 5. Demonstrate inclusion through their own words and actions and be accountable for a safe workspace. Act with kindness, curiosity and respect for others. 6. Embrace and be open to incorporating Promega’s 6 Emotional & Social Intelligence (ESI) core principles in their daily work. 7. Understand and comply with ethical, legal and regulatory requirements applicable to our business. KEY QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Undergraduate pursuing a degree or recent graduate majoring in science and/or business. 2. Interest in the business of biotech and basics of selling. 3. Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment. 4. Outstanding organizational and intrapersonal skills. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Ability to travel, but not required. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 1. Ability to use a computer/Microsoft Office applications. 2. Ability to move up to 25 pounds. 3. Ability to walk up to 5 km during the course of an 8-hour workday. Diversity is important at Promega.
