Sales Director

Role description: 

The Senior Director of Sales is responsible for forecasting, developing, and executing the Ardagh Glass Packaging commercial plan for the assigned segment of the business with slight oversight from the VP of Sales. This position will coordinate sales activities with account managers, customer accounts and prospects.   

 

Responsibilities: 

Assist in developing the overall and specific category level strategies for the segment 

Maintain a broad knowledge of the markets including demand and competitive landscapes  

Assist with long range planning (LRP), budgeting and sales projections 

Monitor inventory turnover per planned objectives and develop action plans 

Develop, track, and analyze key metrics as assigned per segment 

Report and analyze customer forecast and aged inventory details 

Assist credit and collections department with collection efforts 

Negotiate contracts and pricing with customers even if not directly responsible for that customer 

Maintain timely communication of customer problems or potential problems to sales management and recommend corrective action 

Responsible for the development and mentoring of direct reports 

 

Minimum skills / qualifications:  

Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, finance, or a related field  

Ten (10) years of outside sales experience 

Excellent planning and organizational skills 

Effective verbal and written communication and ability to interact with people at all levels of the organization 

Ability to identify problems to execute continuous improvement opportunities 

Ability to travel up to 25% 

 

Preferred skills / qualifications:  

Depth of expertise in sustainability strengthened through appropriate training and qualifications 

Can work independently and with teams when needed 

Compensation

The anticipated base annual salary range for this role is between $135,300 and $202,900 per year. Please note that the salary range provided is a good faith estimate. The final salary will be determined after considering relevant factors, including a candidate’s qualifications and experience, where appropriate.
