**Job Description:**
The Sales Director for Pitney Bowes Australia is tasked with spearheading the sales strategy and operations across the ANZ market. The core objective is to drive substantial revenue growth and improve gross margins while aligning with the strategic goals of the APAC region. This role is critical in fortifying market presence, optimizing profit margins, and enhancing the overall competitiveness of Pitney Bowes in Australia & New Zealand.
Key Accountabilities:
+ Strategic Sales Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy for the ANZ market that aligns with regional and global objectives. Focus on strategic goals that promote revenue growth and gross margin improvements.
+ Revenue and Gross Margin Growth: Set ambitious yet achievable revenue targets and work towards improving gross margins. Implement strategies that maximize profitability through efficient sales processes and innovative solutions tailored to the ANZ market;
+ Team Leadership and Development: Build and manage a high-performance sales team capable of delivering on the company’s objectives. Focus on mentoring, training, and developing team members to excel in their roles and contribute effectively to the team’s success;
+ Market Expansion and Penetration: Identify and capitalize on new business opportunities within Australia & New Zealand to expand market reach and penetration. Develop initiatives to explore new customer segments and verticals that align with Pitney Bowes’ offerings;
+ Client Relationship Management: Cultivate strong relationships with key customers, stakeholders, and partners. Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and loyalty by understanding their unique needs and delivering superior service and solutions
+ Financial and Operational Management: Oversee sales operations ensuring efficiency and effectiveness. Monitor and manage the financial performance of the sales department, focusing on revenue growth and gross margin improvements. Report regularly on performance metrics to regional leadership; and
+ Compliance and Ethical Standards: Uphold and advocate Pitney Bowes’ high standards of integrity and compliance. Ensure all sales practices adhere to local and international laws and reflect Pitney Bowes’ ethical standards.
Key Results:
+ Revenue Growth Achievement: Achieve and exceed the annual revenue targets set for the ANZ market and demonstrate quarter-over-quarter revenue growth in alignment with the strategic goal;
+ Gross Margin Improvement: Enhance gross margins through optimized sales strategies and cost management and implement innovative sales tactics that lead to higher profitability per deal;
+ Market Expansion Success: Successfully enter new market segments or verticals, showing clear revenue streams from these areas within the first year and increase market penetration rates by a specific percentage, demonstrating effective expansion strategies;
+ Sales Team Performance: Develop and lead a high-performing sales team where each member meets or exceeds their individual and team sales targets and enhance team capabilities through targeted training programs, resulting in improved sales skills and product knowledge;
+ Client Relationship Management: Maintain a high customer retention rate by ensuring superior service and relationship management and achieve high customer satisfaction scores through regular NPS feedback/scoring and tailored customer engagement strategies.
+ Operational Efficiency: Streamline sales processes to reduce the sales cycle length and increase deal closure rates and report on sales performance metrics regularly, demonstrating continuous improvement in sales operations;
+ Strategic Contributions: Provide strategic insights to the APAC leadership that contribute to broader regional strategies and participate in regional strategic planning meetings, influencing the direction based on the Japanese market’s performance and needs; and
+ Compliance and Ethical Standards: Ensure zero compliance issues or legal disputes related to sales practices under their leadership and uphold the highest standards of ethical behaviour and corporate governance within the sales team.
Key Capabilities/Qualifications/Experience:
+ Education: Master’s degree in business, Marketing, or related field preferred;
+ Experience: 10+ years of progressive experience in sales, with at least 2 years in a senior sales leadership role, preferably within the technology or software sectors;
+ Skills and Competencies: Exceptional leadership and team management skills, strong negotiation and communication abilities, deep understanding of the ANZ market and industry trends, strategic and analytical thinking, problem-solving capabilities; and
+ Travel: Willingness to travel domestically and occasionally internationally.
