Sales Assistant

The Sales Assistant works within established Sales Department guidelines to maximize station revenue opportunities from an order entry, traffic and accounting perspective.  The Sales assistant is also responsible for performing all clerical functions required by department personnel as needed.

Specific Responsibilities Include:

Performs all clerical functions for the Sales Department, including maintaining files and other business recordsMaintains awareness of the most current traffic policies, practices and proceduresEnters order, traffic and accounting data using computers, ledgers, orders and other resources; monitors inventoryCorresponds with customers and confers with coworkers to answer inquiries and resolve account problemsWorking in sales avail systems like Wide Orbit Media Sales to update network prime and sports programming across Nexstar’s 200+ television stationsGenerating audience estimates based on historical performance and market-specific trendsCreation of sales materials, including one sheets, audience trends, dashboards, etc.Performs other duties as assigned

 Requirements & Skills:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Marketing, Communications, English, or StatisticsFluency in EnglishMinimum one year’s experience in clerical support or administrative assistance, preferably in the sales or media fieldsProficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines and other office equipmentAbility to work under pressure and meet tight deadlinesProblem-solving and deductive reasoning skillsClear and concise communications both through writing and presentation skillsOrganizational skills for daily responsibilities and special projects for sales teamComfortable working in a collaborative team environmentHighly proficient in all Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
