Safety Technician

Insituform Technologies, LLC - C&L is looking for a Safety Technician to join our team.

 

Insituform Technologies, LLC is a leading worldwide provider of cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) and other technologies and services for the rehabilitation of pipeline systems. Insituform's businesses consist of sewer, drinking water, and energy and mining pipeline rehabilitation and protection. Insituform's technologies allow its customers to avoid the extraordinary expense and extreme disruption that can result from traditional "dig and replace" methods.

Responsibilities:

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

LEARN. Become certified in industry specific safety training to include learning how to identify hazards and provide corrective solutions.SAFETY AUDITS. Requires visiting crews in the field to help the crew and management identify hazards, place corrective measures in place and support the crew; building team morale and making safety culture the number one priority.OTHER SAFETY CHECKS. In addition to Audits, performing safety near miss reporting, DOT compliance checks of equipment while onsite, JHA reviews, and overall safety observations.METRICS MANAGEMENT.Producing, administering and receiving back “Weekly Safety Tailgates.”Audit Tracking – Data interpretation and validation to implement follow-ups needed.Near Miss Tracking – Data interpretation and validation to implement follow-ups needed.Safety Observations Tracking – Following up with specific requests obtained, letting them know we hear them. Follow up and implementation of all requests, including those that are anonymous.Training, certification and Skills Database ManagementDOT compliance, i.e. medical card expirations etc.Fit Testing TrackingCertification Tracking – setting up new and tracking expirations and re-training requirements. REPORTING. Metrics reporting to safety management and operation’s leadership teams.PRE-CONSTRUCTION and AFTER-ACTION MEETINGS. Aide Project Staff in producing or reviewing JHAs. Participate in After Action Reviews and internal and external pre-construction meetings.TRAINING. Training field staff how to use software and encourage safety ownership in identifying hazardous conditions and administering controls.

AUXILIARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Helping to organize and setup monthly, quarterly and annual training events.Coordinating/Communicating with other Area Technicians to provide comprehensive understanding and mutual benefit regarding trends, data, safety ideas, incentives, etc.Helping with safety equipment maintenance, management, and inventory. Tracking inventory by team.Aiding Safety Manager with incident management and reporting.Helping Train teams on importance of equipment care, creating accountability.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree preferredDirect experience assessing training needs, creating training materials, and delivering the trainingExperience creating high quality presentations using a variety of technologies (e.g. WebEx, MS PowerPoint, LCD projectors, etc.)Advanced written and oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate with individualsMotivated, energetic, goal-oriented, and positive outlook critical, as well as strong sense of professionalism and diplomacyStrong time management and prioritizing skillsStrong problem-solving, attention to detail and analytical skillsAble to build and maintain lasting relationships with other departments, key business partners, and other stakeholdersExtensive computer experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)Must be able to travel to sites outside of the metro area as needed (40% of the time)Interstate travel may be required for training and company eventsAvailable to be on-call after normal working hours
