12181BRJob Description:The safety coordinator will monitor operations to predict, observe and eliminate hazardous conditions and activities. Duties and Responsibilities: + Ensure Safety, Environmental, Quality requirements and “where applicable” ResponsibleSteel + requirements are followed. + Advising on provisions to minimize safety risks + Ensure the development, implementation and updating of required written safety and health programs and plans + Organize and conduct safety training plans + Collaborate with managers to monitor compliance and identify safety issues + Intervene in unsafe activities or operations, coaching and mentoring those involved to eliminate unacceptable risks + Procure first aid and medical treatment as needed for injured workers + Investigate incidents collaborating with managers and supervisors determining root cause and improvements + Promotes safety and health awareness through internal company memoranda, newsletters and specific training programs + Complete special projects as assigned Qualifications: + Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university; or three to five years minimum related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience + In-depth knowledge of OSHA guidelines and practices + Experience in reporting and developing policies + Strong verbal, written and analytical skills + Competent in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and Outlook + Able to contribute positively as part of a team, helping with various tasks as required Working Conditions and Physical Requirements: This position occasionally requires employee to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds.
