Safety Specialist

Job Description:

The Safety Specialist works with Operations Leadership and associates across the Sales and Distribution Centers and Fab Shops to support a strong safety culture and is responsible for ensuring the facilities are compliant with all OSHA, Federal, and State/Local guidelines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide subject matter expertise on Cambria safety standards and programsSupport to continuously improve the following programs: incident reporting and investigation, emergency preparedness, hazardous communication, lock-out-tag-out, crane, forklift, confined space, fall protection, blood borne pathogen, emergency response plans, and hearing conservationEnsure the processing facility is compliant with all OSHA, Federal and State/Local guidelines, requirements and Cambria safety standards by auditing all safety training activitiesAdvise, inform and generate reports for operations leadership on relevant safety initiativesAssist with accident or near miss investigationsFacilitate the Safety Improvement TeamsMonitor inventory for safety supplies and interact with vendorsSupport the ERT (Emergency Response Team) ensure drills are being conducted as necessaryConduct industrial hygiene and noise sampling as necessaryCommunicate effectively with all employeesKeep work area clean and orderlyHandle chemicalsPerform job duties safely as outlined in the Safety Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)Ability to travel 25% - 50%Additional duties as assigned by management

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

Bilingual (English/Spanish)1-3 years relevant experienceKnowledge of OSHA regulations for General Industry and DOT regulationsProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite productsCrane and forklift experienceCritical thinking and troubleshooting skillsBasic math skillsMechanically inclinedIndustrial work experience

Minimum Requirements:

Education:  High School Diploma or GED, Bachelor's Degree in related field preferred

Experience: Safety experience in manufacturing field preferred

Physical Requirements:

Lift up to 50 lbs.Push/pull 100 lbs.Stand on feet for long periods of time during a shift for up to 12 hours, with intermittent breaksWear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provided by CambriaWork in an outdoor environment in all weather conditionsWalk up and down steps multiple times throughout shiftBend over multiple times throughout shift

Task Based Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements:

Steel toed bootsHearing ProtectionSafety glassesCut-proof glovesLatex glovesFace shieldHigh visibility vestHalf or Full-facepiece Respirator

The US base salary range for this position is $55k-$65k annually. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the target for new hires for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by several factors, including work location, job-related experience, and relevant education or training.
