Health & Safety Specialist
Reporting to the EHS Manager, the primary responsibility of the Health & Safety Specialist is to be the primary contact for EHS efforts in one or more business areas (distribution, manufacturing, technical service, and/or facilities, etc.). Primarily, the support will include addressing EHS concerns/questions, facilitating corrective actions, performing risk assessments, conducting training, participating on investigation teams, documenting standards and programs, analyzing and reporting on trends, assisting with worker’s compensation, and regulatory reporting. You will work with EHS and site management teams and assist as needed to standardize across all sites in the Americas. You will work with teams that are passionate about protecting the safety and well-being of employees and protecting our environment.

Comply with ResMed Safety Policies and Procedures
Regular attendance, timeliness and scheduling flexibility
Ensure and evaluate site adherence to ResMed policies and programs
Ensure compliance to OSHA standards, such as Lockout Tagout, Hazard Communication, and Machine guarding.
Conduct risk assessments / Job Hazard Analysis
Conduct site wide trainings on ResMed safety policies and procedures
Conduct new hire/visitor safety orientation
Assist with safety program development and documentation
Manages inputs/updates to safety database and document control systems
Assist site management in completion of incident reports and investigations
Develop job-specific safety training to meet site needs
Provide technical advising in support of Safety Team activities
Advise and support First Responder Team activities
Maintain safety records
Maintain and promote near miss reporting programs
Manage site SDS library
Analyze injury and near miss trends
Conduct site inspections/audits
Lead safety gemba walks and address findings with site management
Maintain data to support tracking of weekly and monthly EHS metrics
Other responsibilities as assigned by management
Assist EHS Manager with programs for Distribution, Manufacturing, Technical Service, and office operations in the Americas
Support distribution wellbeing initiatives
Ability to travel 10-15%
Other duties as assigned
Let’s talk about Qualifications and Experience
Required:
Bachelor’s Degree
Strong organizational skills, detailed oriented, self-motivated, and ability to multi-task.
Strong professional communication skills, both oral and in writing. Ability to lead others.
Strong knowledge of safety programs and General Industry OSHA Regulations
Intermediate level in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
EHS experience in manufacturing and/or distribution environments
Preferred:
Minimum of 5-10 years of related experience.
EHS experience in manufacturing and distribution environments
Essential Physical Requirements / Work Environment
The employee should possess the ability to:
Prolonged standing or in stationary position
Wear all required personal protective equipment
Ability to lift/move/transport items up to 30 pounds
Ability to move about the facilities
Must be able to ascend/descend stairs or ladders
