Your Impact
The major duties and responsibilities of the Safety Manager include:
+ Enforce, monitor, and document construction safety, environmental safety, and security requirements.
+ Responsible for developing, monitoring, and reporting compliance activities to the Project Management team.
+ Work closely with client staff and project management team to ensure the understanding of their responsibilities with respect to safety and conduct regular/daily safety surveys.
+ Attend project related meetings including but not limited to, project meetings occurring in the field or other required locations.
+ Review and comment on project-related submittals including, but not limited to: Job Hazard Analysis, Contractor Safety Manual, Safety Data Sheets, and Crane Lift Plans
+ Administer, monitor, and coordinate construction safety aspects to ensure compliance with the project team.
+ Direct implementation, administration, and review of the effectiveness of the industrial, construction, and environmental safety plan
+ Consult with and advise the Project Management team on developing safety goals and objectives in accordance with the project requirements.
+ Implement and evaluate safety standards and procedures necessary to eliminate, minimize, or control the degree of risk involving people-to-equipment interface in a variety of occupational and related subject area.
+ Determine the adequacy of maintenance safety practices and procedures in assuring the desired level of safety and recommend any necessary policy and procedure changes.
+ Report on project safety metrics, review site safety procedures and author project related safety status reports and evaluate safety mitigation measures implemented on the project.
+ Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
+ Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
Who You Are
Required Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or in a related field.
+ 10+ years of experience in construction safety or transit safety.
+ Successful completion of the OSHA 30-hour Construction Course.
+ Strong interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to a technical and non-technical audience.
+ Effective self-leadership with attention to detail, results orientation, and managing multiple priorities in a dynamic work environment.
+ Proven ability to supervise, manage, and coordinate work activities of subordinate safety staff.
+ Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
+ Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.

Compensation:
Expected Salary: $ $97,100 - $173,140
WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
