What You'll Do Ability to adhere to CMC safety policies and procedures Ability to make sure all employees are trained and well prepared to carry out their daily tasks to ensure everyone's safety Ability to use the required PPE associated with the job tasks (gloves, safety glasses, safety harness, respirator, and adhere to shaving policy) Ability to work under the guidelines of CMC's core values and safety standards Able to follow safety regulations and participate in CMC safety programs Actively involved in promoting a successful Proactive Safety Measures program Actively participate and assist in leading team with CMC Safety Programs and proactively uphold the CMC Safety Culture (Take 2, Observation Cards and Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) Adhere to and uphold the CMC Safety Culture, organizational policies, practices, and confidentiality agreements Assist and support CMC Operations Safety in development and implementation of safety policies, procedures, requirements, and initiatives Assist with implementing and maintaining a site-wide health and safety program to prevent work-related injuries and ensure regulatory compliance Attend all safety meetings and actively participate in the safety programs Collaborate in a team environment – Working with Sales, Purchasing, HR, Accounting, Safety and Maintenance departments on a regular basis Comply with local safety procedures and regulations at all times What You'll Need Excellent quantitative and analytical skills with an aptitude of problem solving Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to work in teams and to effectively interact with employees at all levels of the organization Able to work independently, take initiative and drive for results with minimal supervision Demonstrated strong analytical and problem solving skills Proficient in MS Office programs – Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Visio Presentation/Report on an improvement project at the end of internship Must meet CMC attendance standards Ability to interact with coworkers and customers in a positive manner, follow directions and work rules and accept constructive feedback required Must be able to bend, stoop, push, pull, lift, kneel, squat, crawl and reach Ability to work overtime as necessary outside of normally scheduled shift with little or no advance notification required, including weekends and holidays Must be at least 18 years old Able to work a flexible schedule to include 40 hour work weeks appropriate semesters Strong communication and interpersonal skills, highly motivated, and self-starter Use good decision making and problem solving skills to understand and meet customer expectations Work in varying temperature and weather conditions Ability to manipulate and utilize Working Drawings Strong communication and interpersonal skills, highly motivated, and a self-starter Use good decision making and problem-solving skills to understand and meet customer expectations Able to work in a team environment Your Education Currently pursuing a degree in a related field at an accredited universityWe are Commercial Metals Company, a Fortune 500 company with a family feel that’s already part of your life.
