The Skunk Works (Lockheed Martin Advanced Development Programs) is looking for world-class talent in Software Engineering to be a part of a team that will carry on our 80-year tradition-making history in advanced aircraft development. You will be responsible for building a team of software engineers in support of our next generation of air vehicles. The subsystems being developed are expected to support development of a wide range of aircraft subsystems supporting both our current platforms and the aircrafts of the future.
We operate in a fully onsite and hands on team.

YOUR IMPACT:
You will be able to take your passion for airplanes and experience as a engineer and use it to help develop a team responsible for various aspects of vehicle management, and air system communications.
Your responsibilities for this role will be leading the software development team including building the team, managing the day-to-day operations, maintaining / expanding lab infrastructure and site infrastructure to support the developers that you'll be responsible for identifying and hiring. For the management and development of their team, you are responsible for providing technical coaching and mentoring, work assignments, employee career development, continuous ongoing feedback, and being their employees advocate in opportunity discussions. You will be responsible for coordinating employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessments, salary planning, recognition/disciplinary actions, and engineering competency development. This position offers a motivated leader the opportunity to have a high impact on a productive program.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or above in an engineering/technical discipline from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education. Viewed as an emerging authority in discipline and the technical leader responsible for development across a team of individuals.
Experience leading teams with 5-10 employees.
Experience with C or C++
Experience with developing Graphical User Interfaces
Experience with Windows and associated development toolchains.
Experience with the System Design Lifecycle or Software Design Lifecycle.
Demonstrated technical breadth in the areas of Software Development and Systems Engineering.
Desired Skills:
xperience with Linux or RTOS (real time operating systems) development
Experience with Lua
Experience with managing functional budgets.
Experience with career development and individual coaching / mentoring
Experience with employee recruitment, selection, and training
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
Clearance Level: Secret

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
